You have to engineer and fabricate a bracket to hang the cup holder.
Check out the pictures in this link.

Rebuilt my rag joint. Feels like it tighten up the steering sitting still without the engine running. Have to test drive to confirm.

Thanks to TxFirefighter for his FAQ instructions. His tutorial with pictures was helpful.
Thanks Kevin.

Figured out that the dwell on my new set of points was way off. No wonder it wouldn't start. Finally started, ran strong, forward and reverse gears working good. Even brakes were working just enough to stop me. Was all excited, then I saw water coming from the block. Upon further inspection, the block appears to have a big C shaped crack on the drivers side. One step forward, a big leap back. Now I have to make a decision.

That IS a bad day! Sorry to hear.

I tinkered with touching up some black paint in the engine bay. Figuring out the little things I need to replace. Gotta love old trucks.

I painted the top of my dash black. I made my own antenna lead firewall grommet from a piece of fuel line & used some gorilla glue to hold the home made grommet into place. I ran all new wiper washer hoses from the washer pump to the washer jug & to the squirter nozzles. They both squirt like a charm. That is, after spending nearly a 1/2 day cleaning out those dang nozzles. I removed the looped heater hoses the PO had done & installed new heater hoses and checked for a leaking heater core. And to my amazement, the heater core is not leaking. I have yet to figure out why the PO had looped the heater hoses. Maybe because it blew hot air all the time cause I did notice that one of the levers on the AC control is broken. Thank God I do not have to change out a heater core!!

Beautiful day today in North Texas. Spent so time with the wifey at the Decatur swap meet. Bunches of 60-72 truck parts there. Spent $115 and got all this. The doors are "scratch and dents". The PS is the one I needed and only has 3 small dings in it. The DS needs a new skin, but I think it will buff out:lol:.

Did drop engine and trans in, NOW everything goes back together

Motor is 2005 Vortec 5.3 from Suburban. We're using 2013 Camaro LS3 exhaust manifolds, x-pipe, dual flow masters, with K&N intake and PCM tune should be around 335-340 HP.

Re : Park Brake

O.K. then but if you'd seen all the death and misery I have you'd never , EVER be without a park brake .

Remember this : it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt , worse yet if it's a child.......

3 TONS of old truck rolling away after the driveshaft falls out isn't fun , I know this .

Makes no difference you have new U-Joints and grease them as much as I do mine .

SAFETY KNOWS NO SEASON .

:waah: .

Well, Nate. I gotta admit you had me thinkin' "safety" this morning. And you had me thinkin' "U-Joints", too.

Even though there is probably no more than 400 miles on the build, I was under the truck checking torque readings
on everything, greasing everything, including the spacers and wheels.

Down side is, I scraped a small tree limb parking in "my spot" after the test run. Off came a little paint and a
part of a pinstripe. No big deal.

But the driveline and suspension are all (properly) tight as a drum.:metal:

I didn't get any work done but I did order some parts. Which includes A complete wiring harness and a plumbing kit for my tank to the fuel filter and the pump.

Finally paint! It took a while to get everything prepped, but that's 80% of painting, right? I'm super happy with the way everything turned out. I even installed the intake...that was a lil challenging, especially right next to the plenum. But I got to say the "hardest" part is over. Time to start bolting everything back on. Already received most of the new goodies.
