Your quality of workmanship and attention to detail is outstanding. looking forward to following along.

Hey where did your user name come from. I have been using mine as just Chapstr since I bought an xbox 360 in 05. Stole mine from Napstr and combined it with my last name Chapa. :haha:

I would do it in a heart beat if you were closer. I love to paint and in the past have done a lot of my own work. But I am just so swamped with work and my family and these frames I just don't have the extra time to paint.

My user name came fro me my bike racing years and out door motocross. Superfly is what mt dad called me because people would say I was smooth and fast on a bike and motorcycle. The steiny is what I was called by my team mates in football. From the time I was a kid until I was through collage. So I combined the 2

Looking badass!! I love the brakes with your choice of wheels. Are you going to run a one or two piece driveshaft? I noticed on your project "Second Chance" you ran a two piece and I've always wondered how that held up to the blown motor? I plan on running some serious HP in my 72 but have always questioned whether a two piece drive shaft would be a week link or not. Thanks for the pics and keep em coming :metal:

I have to run a 2 piece. Find a good drive line shopand have them build you a bullet proof drive line. I have had no issues with the 2 piece. Hope that helps.

Did you test that drive shaft in the 'Second Chance' truck? Full pull?

Love this build for your Dad, it sure shows us what can be done in a short time, and with a quality starting point. Well your dedication and mad skills help too.

Thanks man and to answer the question. I hammered the 67 from a dead stop and had no drive line issues what so ever. Of course I had a ton of wheel spin. I think a truck is so light in the rear end it should not be an issue. That being said if you were running prostreet set up and you were able to get the truck to hook you cauld have some issues. But most of us are not doing the prostreet look and most of us are not trying to build 10 sec drag trucks. So that why I feel you should be able to build a a two piece driveline that can take the tq and hp.

I agree with you, I'm just fishing for knowledge from guys with experience. I've got a serious sbc going in right now, but really like this drop member stuff. So with that stout engine in Second Chance, you seemed like the guy to ask. Its hard not to step on it at least once.

Rumor has it Nate is working on a static height, coil over drop member; that will be interesting to me, perhaps the split drive shaft won't be necessary. Thanks for the info.
