Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)
While I'm looking for my camera I thought I'd post some (old) pics of my nephew's work. These two brothers (Josh and Ryan Huffaker) have some mad skills when it comes to body work and painting. I plan on having them lay the paint on Tangerine.

So I took a little time off to get all the "honey do's" and spring cleaning done and I went to Portland to the big swap meet. Felt good to re-connect to the world and I even got to meet some board members. Oh yeah, I also found my camera, so I'll be posting new pics soon. Thanks for your patience. :chevy::gmc2:

Nice Pontiac!! 71 or 72? LeMans or tempest? My dad just recently sold his 1070 Pontiac Tempest T-37. He had owned it for almost 30 years. He still has a 1970 Pontiac LeMans Sport Convertable!. |

I kept some pieces from the rear section of the Yukon floor and used them to blend the floor to the back of the cab.

While I've been working on tying up all the loose ends on the cab, I've also been working on my radiator core support. After wasting a whole lot of time cleaning up and trying to modify the 70 core support, I finally decided to build my own. The Yukon radiator was just too big to use the 70 core support. I''m not finished with it yet, here's what I've got so far.

I thought I'd let you guy's in on what fresh he11 I had to go through to put my rocker panels on. I know I've talked about this before on this thread and on MCBASSIN's thread,, it's nice that the aftermarket makes parts for these old trucks,, but it would be nicer if they actually fit. I bought these from Brothers Truck and I used the video's on "mobile hot rod repair .com" which were helpful,, but in order to get these rockers to correctly line up with the door, the front fender and the cab corner,, I had to "split" the rocker lengthwise. I know I'm not the only one who's had to do this , I've seen others on this site who had to do the same.
. . http://imageshack.us/a/img151/4952/dsc00092gd.jpg, . . After I split the rocker panel I welded a piece of half inch flat bar to inside of the split. . . http://imageshack.us/a/img28/2885/dsc00091wf.jpg, http://imageshack.us/a/img716/774/dsc00090gd.jpg, . . |
Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)
After completely filling the split with weld, I did a bunch of grinding sanding an polishing to make them look normal again. I had to do this procedure on both sides.

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)
That Rad support is awesome! Of course you wouldnt be happy with "it doesn't fit" and put an old one in there. Why didn't I think of that :hh: Probably because my skills are not as great as yours.
Them rockers suck!, seen it a few times but it seems I have been blessed by the taiwaneese rocker man. Mine seem to fit just fine but we will see the truth this weekend when I finally put them on with the welder instead of my mock up screws. Keep it up Buddy!:metal: |

. . May be these trucks came in different sizes or the Chinese can't convert inches to millimeters. |
