Re: Period Correct Accessaries for your truck...
I totally dig the "new" old cooler for road trips. We always had a smaller one to keep sandwiches and drinks cold for those longer trips. Good times....

They look vintage, but they're no longer effective in their primary role. |

I may try it. I've also been ogling 2-1/2'' aircraft compasses. The General Aviation kind that were $20 retail in 1970. About $100 on ebay now. Some are cheaper when dry. |

Baby oil I have on hand. c1971 -- Do you think 2 ounces is enough? Also, I think a non-ferrous filler hole screw would avoid influencing the magnet's alignment. |

[QUOTE='68OrangeSunshine;8919771]Does Sporty's Pilot Shop or All Aircraft Parts sell it?
I didn't see it on Sporty's but Aircraft Spruce has it. I think I bought mine at a pilot shop by the airport. Try that or an FBO or avionics shop. |

I just put these steps on. They're reproduced by member Mike Cofield. Getting in the Blazer is so much easier now.

The emergency equipment company might refuse to recharge it. The tank may be too old to be hydrostatted. A shiny dud fire extinguisher is only good for smacking methheads in the face when they try to carjack you. Useless in a fire. |

It's the equivalent of responding to the call of: ''Is there a doctor in the house?'' with, "Why, yes, I have a PhD in Oriental Philosophy.'' Having a real, good-to-go fire extinguisher also on hand is better, but there's still the issue of the probability of someone -- in a panic -- grabbing the historically-correct dud artifact, instead of the life-saving device, when seconds count. And if you don't think there will ever be a fire on one of these old trucks, you haven't been around them long enough. |
