Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?
Im looking at Wheel Vintiques on Summits website and Im not seeing the 16 inch 8 lug steel wheels. I know a couple people on this thread said they got them from there. Could you get me a little more info ... part number or something?

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?
Gotta love more help =)
Does anyone know what the stock 8 lug rim width is? ... I'm not talking the Kelsey Hayes upgrade wheels. Just plain ol stock 8 lug width. |
Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?
Summit Racing's part #WVI-82-680804.

Wow only 6.5 inches wide. Seems so narrow for a big truck

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?
Has anyone ever seen a stamped 8-lug steel wheel (either aftermarket or modified "stock") that has been grafted to a 17" barrel???
I'd love to be able to use a stock set of hubcaps, and would really like to have the stock-appearing steel wheel but in the 17" diameter and with at least 5.5" of backspacing I realize it's an odd request, and will probably be a one-off custom job but I'm curious if it would even be possible to cut out and use a 16.5" center in the larger barrel???? Thanks for any links or suggestions on who might be capable of doing this kind of project. Bonus points to anyone who can post a pic where this has already been done by someone else! :) -G |

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?
Thanks.
My only other idea was to find an off-the-shelf plain-looking steel 17" wheel and try to figure out a mounting scheme to hang a stock hubcap on it somehow? Maybe just weld the retaining "bumps" from the stock wheel to the generic wheel.... Or create some kind of wireframe mount that would latch to a factory hubcap? -G Posted via Mobile Device |

Check this out, definitely an idea: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...60&postcount=6
Or maybe the centers from some old 17.5" wheels would fit some outer 17" rings. If you could find some plain 17" steel wheels you like it probably would be easiest to just weld some tabs on them. |

The coolest would actually be to use the old center caps on these wheels somehow.... |

The H2 wheels and Chevy caps will be going on mine when I get to that point. I'll have a little different looking cap though. I'm trying to mimic the original hubcaps.
