Re: Project...praise the lowered

well im now a married man.we got hitched on saturday and it was a blast.not your boring old normal wedding.so the truck build slowed down a little.im still doing the slow boring wiring and brackets for moving the ecu and fuse boxes inside the cab.its going well just slow.i should be back at it hard real soon.

Congrats man! I'm married to the love of my life as well, and couldn't be happier! Heck, she even bought me my truck! And I had her out helping me a couple weekends ago. Gotcha a keeper there for sure! ;)

Re: Project...praise the lowered

thanks y all.she is a keeper for sure and that is my dads project.sorry for no updates but im still picking away at the small tedious stuff.so since the last update i almost have the wiring complete.computer, relay box and fuse box`s are all mounted and tucked away under the dash and under the new console.cab mounts are made and tacked im place.i slimmed down the fuel tank re welded it and hydro test it.its now installed and i just have to figure which line went where in the sending unit.spent hours getting the new style brake booster installed where it could be tucked against the new steering shaft with out the joints rubbing.what a pain in the a$$.the sierra brake pedal is now slimmed down and installed.the sierra gas pedal assembly is hacked up and installed with the cable hooked up.rear window with the new rubber is installed.door rubbers are glued in place.i started to cut and shape the sierra carpet in place.and i did some shopping.i think i now have everything for my airbags.and picked up some 4" exhaust pipe for the side exit.i think thats it.

Re: Project...praise the lowered

a quick update from this weekend.friday night i trimmed more carpet and shaped it to fit on drivers and pass side.saturday morning i hooked more wires up,ran my e brake cables into the cab.they will fit up perfect to the hand brake lever.did some more door adjusting, figured out where im going to install the 4 point harness, installed the gas tank for the final time, hooked up all fuel lines to the sending unit.today i dumped in some fuel and flashed the beast up.sounded mean with the straight pipes but with some sensors unplugged and intake just stuck on it ran rough.but it did run.i also extended some wires to the brake booster and wired up the wiper motor.finished installing my front flex lines to my brakes and cut flared and installed the new brake lines.then i drilled all my holes fro running my air lines and installed grommets.it was a ton of small boring stuff but its just more off the list.heres a vid showing its now alive.

:fro: I dig this build man. How far up did you end up channeling the floor?

(joey) 08-09-2011 07:16 PM

Re: Project...praise the lowered

in person it sounds so mean.i like it so much im going to order a couple exhaust cutouts.should be fun on cruse nights.as for the floor in not sure how much it ended up being.i just made sure it was more then enough to drop over the newer style frame.today i got my steel cut and bent for boxing in the front frame horn notches.made a filler neck and e brake cable mounts.nothing exciting but at least its some progress

Cutouts are awesome! Make it even better and put electric cutouts on the ends! That way you can have that sound whenever you want it at the flip of a switch! I think Summit and Jegs have kits with everything you'd need. Ever see Trucks tv show the "copperhead" build?

sorry man.i thought i wrote back to you already but i must not have pressed the button.yeah i know exactly what ones you mean.they are cool.but pricy for me right now with everything else i need to get the truck on the road so i think im going with the cable style ones from jegs.instead of pressing a button i will have to pull the cable.and that copper head build kicked a$$

thanks man.and we have plans for kids soon enough.im just gathering all my toys before they come along.haha.not much for updates.got the b&m hooked up,emergency brake system hooked up.frame horns welded, inner fender brackets welded, inner fenders welded completely and a few more odds and ends.to be honest i have to step away for a quick break.i have going hard since last november and the last few days i just have no ambition to go work on it.so im taking a quick break before i get completely sick of it.i should be back at it hard after this weekend.

Re: Project...praise the lowered

well i had a short break at the cottage last weekend and went back at it.last week i shortened the drive shaft, brought out my camber and tightened the front end, trimmed down the front bag mounts and installed front air bags, ran all my air lines, did some seam sealing on the front clip, installed my 4 point harness, welded the pass side seat back so it has more forward lean when all the way up,and some more small boring stuff.since we are getting more rain today im going to my buddy's place to do some more work to the box sides and good.i havnt taken any pics lately but if any of you want to see what any thing looks like or how i did something just let me know and i can get some.

Nice build. Looks great. I am surprised, with the console and new gauge cluster that you didn't modify the glove box to match, like a gen 1 Vette or Impala style. The symmetry would rock.

Re: Project...praise the lowered

did you have to order wheel with a certain backspace to get it to work or did everything go together ok with certain mods. Always wanted to put my 73 on a newer frame just curious
