What a build !!

People thought I was mad about 21 years ago when I restored a 1963 VW Beetle and redid the one A-pillar about 6 times and the other 4 times.

If it is right, it is right.

Thanks!
Funny, but true!
Last week we were getting ready to paint the door-jambs when I noticed a very minor wave in the outer skins where I had removed the door handles...We then switched-gears, and re-did that area on both doors, and blocked the doors again...for the 4th time. this time I know they are as straight as an arrow!!!

10 pages ... you go big dog!!

Funny thing, I had envisioned you as a 20-something young man, thus my teasing, guess not eh?
Imagine that.

No, not quite McMurphy!
But 1 of my 2 sons is that age! LOL.....What I wouldn't give to be that young again!

Were you thinking that because I'm doing this build at my parents house?
Hell, he's got the room & equipment, and he wanted this truck for himself, only he didn't want to do all of the work, just to leave it to me!!! (His words) LOL
I think he likes being able to sit in a chair and watch, and occasionally shout orders more anyway!!

Possibly... probably more like you have a youthful outlook and approach to things.
But enough of this male bonding crap, lets get some stuff done on our rigs so we can go back to patting each other on the backs....

....just like the big boys do !!

O.K. then. (LOL)
....So we finally shot the dash, and re-shot the back panel inside the cab.
Photos aren't really that great, but the clear laid out like glass!
I've been spending a lot of time going over everything with a fine-toothed comb, & repairing any imperfections. I've also had some small delays lately on getting things painted. It seems my painter has some other projects that pay a whole lot more than mine! Still moving forward, just not as fast.

Not quite as it would seem Flip....I do all of the crappy prep work, i.e. mask it, wipe it off, tack it down, & clean the guns...My buddy Tommy is still spraying it all. Not that I couldn't, but I don't want to run the risk of running hundreds of dollars worth of product onto the floor. (LOL)
So, we are working around his schedule right now, because he has a life too.

Looks awesome! It ain't hard to shoot paint at all, start with some primer and you'll be rockin in no time! I thought you were a kid too, you're as bad as the rest of us coots! Great job, keep it Rollin!

I hear ya man, I sprayed every bit of primer on this rig, and I can paint, but this is what my buddy does for a living!....I don't want to possibly screw it up at this point in the process, I am way more comfortable with his skills.

We got a chance shoot some more color this weekend!
Things are really looking good, I'm almost afraid to touch them!!!
It won't be long and all of the non-exterior surfaces on the cab will have color on them......Seems like this is taking forever!
The next step is to shoot the door openings, & inner doors, then the cab will be ready for exterior color!...I can hardly wait.
Here are a few more pics!

sweeeetttt:metal: man that thing is going to be beautiful.... now quit grinning and get back to work:lol: seriously cant wait to see the cab finished, i bet someone is really getting anxious now.. lets see if i remember how this goes.. at least ten trips to the shop before bedtime..wife is telling about her day but all your hearing is the sound of the paint curing.. 3 hours after going to bed you will finally go to sleep only to dream all night about what your going to do next... ahhh precious memories, now seriously, get back to work:lol:

Thanks all, for the comments!
And Flip, you are soooooo spot-on!
You cannot believe how anxious that I am!
my painter has got a few small crash projects that he needs to attend to, & then he will be back at it.
...I am getting impatient already.
