Thanks guys. I got the epoxy in the voids of the trim. It's ugly but it'll work lol.

I just got their catalog not too long ago. Some good prices in there too.

Yeah I like Hendrix. My son works at a music store and Fender magazine had an article on him so he got it for me. He's a good son. If I could do a video with my truck in it I would use If 6 was 9. At least the first part of it lol.

I like the epoxy idea. For the record, I used NOS trim and clips on my upper tailgate trim and it still has a small gap on the RH side. Drives me nuts but now you gave me a solution if it comes down to it.
Oh yeah, thanks for the Hendrix link :) listening now.

That's really cool that the gmc used your truck on their page .:metal:

Thanks guys! I managed to get the new trim on. I tried it with the 3m tape on the epoxy areas and wasn't happy. It seems the trim didn't pull up tight enough next to the handle for me. So I took a pair of trim clips that came with the new trim (the nut and bolt ones ) and added them next to the trim near the handle. I had to take the handle off to get to the nuts for tightening but it looks so much better.

SOOO in the future I will not drill all the holes for the push in clips. Just two for the handle trim and two for each of the ones beside it. I will do the epoxy trick in the middle of those too.

Nice work on the trim Chuck. I may end up have to steal that trick on mine. I find myself pushing the trim in on the pass. side every time I notice it. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys. It sure looks good to me. I will do this to all my trucks if they have trim from here on out.

Wow! I'm blown away. I just spent every chance I had over the past few days to read every post of the 101 page thread. Choncho is absolutely amazing!

I'm picking up a '71 GMC in a few weeks and will refer back to this thread as I start its build. Hope it turns out this nice one day.

Congrats on the Best of Show! Really a classy truck.

Thanks Robbie. I appreciate the compliments. I took Choncho to a local show/fund raiser at a church and he got a top 50 award.

I plan on it. Might not bring the truck tho. Don't know yet. I've only got like 150 miles on it so if I do I may trailer it. You going?
