I don't have a problem with someone making some money but I don't see a notation in this ad that the truck has rust in the rain gutters (a kinder gentler way of saying that it has roof rust more than likely). At least the first seller mentioned it in his ad. I hope that anyone who is interested in this truck looks real closely at the roof inside an out.

Did they make shortbox highlanders? I think the SPID might be a reproduction. But it is a beautiful truck for sure!

They did make short wheel base Highlanders. I’ve owned two and there are a couple of guys on the site but have one as well. They just seem to be uncommon.

Parts hauler or parts for your hauler. $450

https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/t...575649569.html

Pickup long bed trailer 8ft. Needs a few things but has a lot good: 72 bed with upper and lower wood grain molding/trim, white fleetsides, step bumper, 2" hitch, 1969 coil spring frame with complete 12 bolt rearend, 15x8 aluminum wheels, chrome lug nuts, 4 blade plug, original tail lights work, deluxe marker lights, metal floor, wood tailgate, tiedown eye bolts. The not so good: some rust, saddle gas tank repairs, bed floor a little wavy, needs safety chains, bill of sale, no title etc. still a neat trailer.

Yep, they are pretty rare. Nice truck - but i agree the SPID looks like a repro - hard to tell if it has the clear film. It might, but those are reproduced also. Not a big deal if it is a repro SPID unless, of course, it’s trying to be sold as an original swb truck if it wasn’t. At this price, it matters. Like i said, it is a very nice truck - but the paint seems way off if the goal was medium olive (might just be the camera/lighting) - and i wish the driver’s door wasn’t all banged up on the inside (am I seeing that right?). Seems a very odd thing to not repair when doing a $34k resto. This truck has other documentation, but I’d look quite close at it personally before pulling the trigger. I’d also look closely at the VIN tag and make sure the GVWR at least matches another swb 1/2 ton truck. I’d assume the VIN is a perfect match. Not bagging on the truck - at this price, a potential buyer needs to have all the ducks in a row before committing.

I've had a big block, factory air, sans cab lights version of that one in the shed for years. The master cylinder went out and I backed in and never got "aroundtoit". I should be ashamed I know.

Its actually straight South of Winnipeg Manitoba about 225 miles and 650 from me. I was thinking about it and if I was living in Winnipeg at 225 miles away I would have driven down when I saw the ad and made the deal. To give you an idea of what it costs a Canadian to import a truck in Canada hereis how it breaks down.

The seller was asking 3400.00 for this truck. Exchange rate right now is about 30%.

US Price 3400.00
Exchange 30% = 1020.00
4420.00
Manitoba Tax 8% 353.60 The 8% is on the Canadian dollar value
Federal Tax 5% 221.00 THe 5% is on the Canadian dollar value
Total 4994.60

This isn't so bad at 3400 but when you start talking 10/15,000 US for a truck and more you can see how it gets expensive and then there is cost of getting it home and depending where it is that can be 1500 or more. Also there is Mechanical inspections to do and the costs involved if yiou ned to do things to pass Inspection.
