Re: Project '86
Oh ...... I wasn't being a wise guy ..... I thought the set up really looked functional as to the set up he was running. Thumbs up baby .... I wish I had the nads to cut mine up that way. Possibly you didn't catch my sincere tone.
KuDos to DV8Customs for the whole outside build. I've been impressed so far. Ratty 46 |
Re: Project '86
I went back and I was looking at the ft end are you going to run shocks on the ft? Your work is absolutely incredible.
|
Re: Project '86
Thanks and yes I will be running shocks. Most likely in the stock location.
|
Re: Project '86
Great build man! Can you tell us why you lowered the front section of the frame more than 2" if in fact you only did a 2" Z?
|
Re: Project '86
Not really... I initially moved the front fram horns down 2" just like the Z but that made the core support way to high. What I ended up doing was bolting the fenders to the cab and core support and got everything aligned. Then I tacked the front frame horns in place. I think they ended up being about an inch lower for some reason. Not sure why, but it works.

Re: Project '86
Thats weird, maybe the front crossmember had something to do with it. Bad ass truck anyhow.:ito:

Re: Project '86
Finally got a chance to do a little work again. Got the transmission cross member in. Still need to fab some motor mounts and then I can put the actual transmission mount on the cross member.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/DSC01197.jpg Then I notched my front cross member a bit so my bags wouldn't rub. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/DSC01201.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/DSC01199.jpg I found someone to swap my drop spindles with so next week I will be going back to stock spindles. This will help me with lift and give me back some camber which I need.(Spindles are off and front wheels are just leaned against arms) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/DSC01202.jpg |
Re: Project '86
Plumbing looks clean. Is the bed notched to fit over the tube that runs over the frame? I like that touch since the bed will cover it up.
|
Re: Project '86
The bed is high enough to clear all the plumbing.

Re: Project '86
Started the 2-1/4" chop today. Using all stock glass except the windshield.

Re: Project '86
It's not coming down much so it will be barely be noticeable.
