I bought a 6 lug chassis that had discs on front and the rear end was converted to leafs. Very clean chassis and had these 10" slots on it. I sold them for more than I paid for the chassis.

I'm in the process of getting these cleaned up and ready for the current build. A '71 C10 LWB for my daughter. I offered to get a set of 17"s for it but she decided she wanted this set out of my collection. These are an old set of 15x8.5 Shelby Cal 500's.

it's been a while...
My Slots... In fact, I like them so much I designed a wee bitty version as an insert to hold my 3D printer filament spools. Then I 3D printed them... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:338669 rustyescott - I definitely know where Clifton is... born and raised there myself. |
Re: Slot lovers unite!
Bringing this thread back to life a little... because who doesn't enjoy a nice slot?
15x7 and 15x8 with 235/60 all around i found on CL. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps02cynhwn.jpg On my '70 C10 swb. Its on heated stock coils (pushcased that way). http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...psbimwf5kz.jpg http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...psy1vn2ybc.jpg The future plan is to find a set of 15x10's to go on the back with 275/60's, and move the 15x8's up front with some 255/60's. |

Re: Slot lovers unite!
I have a question for all the 8 luggers out there, what are you doing for center caps?
I have a set of 8 lug slots that i purchased here on the forum i just had polished and am searching for center caps. I was told when i purchased them that they were a set but the polisher said one is a different manufacture, it has a slightly larger bore (1/16" larger) and about 1/4" different offset. I have verified the bore difference before sending to the polisher but not the offset, not super concerned about that now. My bores measure: 3) measure's @ 4.8125 1) measure's @ 4.875 So far i have found a ton of caps at 5.15, and finally found some at 4.9 but sure not finding anything that matches my measurements. Guess i could have them machined but hate spending the money being as this will be a one time deal unless someone starts making the 16.5 tires again. If you have ran into this and have a solution please share, thanks! |
Re: Slot lovers unite!
I don't use any. I am proud of my full-floating hubs and on the front they are just a piece of tin to cover the sides. I'm proud enough of my lock-out hubs anyways. I think on the rear black hubs look best. I've put chrome acorn caps on the axle bolts, painted them silver, and left them alone. Center caps are rattle traps that can stay on the shelve as far as I'm concerned.
I hope I can find this thread in a couple weeks when I finally get my '72 suspension work (front end/brakes) done. I have 16.5 x 9.75 slots, BFG A/Ts, and Selectro hubs going on. |

I agree with Special-K. No center caps. But 2 wheel drive fronts would look funny without. Here's mine.

I'll play
From eyeballing them I think I've got 15x7 and 15x8.5 or 9 or maybe even 10? I just got the truck today so I haven't even had a chance to pull off the wheels |
Re: Slot lovers unite!
Excellent thread! If anyone has a pair of 16.5 X 9.75 Chevy 8 lug slots with a 5 inch backspace I would consider taking those off your hands if you asked real nice =)
