Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle
We rode over 200 miles today. 160 of it dirt. Man I'm whipped, but what fun. Seven departed, Seven returned. It was good day.
http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...crossroads.jpg Well... The bike doesn't look too bad, just dusty. It ran good all day with no issues. http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...bike/after.jpg |
Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle
That does sound like a fun & tiring ride. What did you do for gas? Was there a chase truck?

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle
ok Jhwkns, Ill get with the program. Heres my heap.
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a.../ct90/bike.jpg The phrase 'needs work' doesnt even begin to describe this lol. Ive never had a bike before, but it cant be to bad. Good examples of these sell in the 700 - 1000 range now. At 60 bucks, this was cheap enough. Parts are plentiful and cheap online. I figure I may still have a grand in it by the time its done, but by then Ill know every inch of it and wont worry about what might go wrong. |

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle
Bought another XV 750 Yamaha yesterday. Only 200 bucks. Now I have 2 of them. I'll make one good one from the 2, and have lots of extra parts to sell. This one even has a complete engine, ignition key and a title.

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle
DT1, did you order most of your resto parts online? Getting stuff here is what I believe will run my cost up. From what I see, shipping cost more than the parts in most cases

That said, I have spent more cash on almost every bike than it's worth. In my case, the money plays second fiddle next to the desire to restore the machine properly. It you're looking to get the bike in acceptable shape without laying out big $$$, the best bet is to locate a couple of donar bikes and massage the usable parts back to life. Things like rubber and original graphics/decals are also a large cost factor. For example, I paid $100. just for the original stickers on the fuel tank for the CT90. |

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle
that is in Glacier National Park, on the Going-to-the-Sun highway with 'Bird Woman falls' in the background.
gotta watch the locals there 'bouts. caught this one casing my ride. http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/p...149Large-1.jpg |
Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle
Well it doesnt have to be perfect, as I do plan to ride it on the farm and enjoy it. That said, If I do it, it also has to be done right. Donor bikes would be right up my alley. Unfortunately I would just wind up with me looking at parts to fix the parts bikes eventually lol. Id get the one Im working on finished up, and then end up saying "well.... Ive got that frame over there..."
