Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
Yea T.J. it's always a good thing to find even small stuff... I bought a new altenator and put it on today and did some wiring, it'll cut off with the key now, I also with put the hood back on.. I'm gonna have to look into fixin the front seal it's leaking,,even though the new rubber gasket didn't have all the holes punched I should have punched them out and put in all the bolts, even though the kit said you didn't have to....yada yada yada....
http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/...psk6d1gzev.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/...psxy4q4ggu.jpg I had to take a break from sanding.. It's been sooooooo HOT and all that dust from sanding whew.... |

Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
WOO-WEE been working on the ole heater for the last couple of evenings couldn't seem to get it working again with the switch but when run a wire from heater motor straight to battery would run....so I tore half the box apart thinking it was the motor because it worked fine before I pulled the engine and the box and repainted it... and pulled the switch and all the wires look good, couldn't find my test light so went out there this evening messing with it again and went a bought another test light a there's no power going to the switch well Lordy Lordy. So here's a lesson to be learned here, here's what I should have done to start with check the FUSE and guess what the fuse was blown, popped another one in there and guess what the ole heater fired right up....I will say this that it will run you outta there when it's warmed up....This truck is really trying my patience...But I'm going to win....LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
Well I'm still sanding just about got the back of cab done, Then I started on sanding on the top and around the back window, a lot of hand sanding as I cant' get the D.A. sander in all those weird funky curves and odd shapes the area above the rear window, Looks like it was a solid color when new but some time another someone has painted the top white.. I'm going with the white top as I think it'll be a cooler color. I think I'll get the top ready to paint and work my way down so I won't mess up the green below it, wished I could have it ready to paint all at one time but oh well. it's a lot of work for just one person as I'm doing everything myself...but atleast all the hard will be done and later on if and when I get a garage I can go back and redo if need to...it will be good to see some paint go on it.. even if it's alittle at a time... I might get more done as were not working so much OT and the weather here has cooled off some...

Wah Wah Wah I sold my ole Fleetline last Saturday a gentlemen pulled up and ask is that ole car for sale and I said how much money do you have LOL, he said again is it for sale And again I replied how much money you got then he pulled in the drive way and we talked, and Sunday afternoon she left after 12 yrs, This is what I traded for the Fleetline 12 yrs ago a 66 SS Impala...350 4 spd.. I had this Impala for about 13 yrs... http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/...psz1pxwe8l.jpg Oh well I needed the cash for my Truck project as long as I have something to tinker around on, you can't keep them all atleast I can't afford to. At one time I had My 70 burb a 90 Burb a 41 1/2 ton chevy truck... so the ole flleetline went to a good home and I'm happy. got to order parts for my truck and got caught up on some bills and taking a small Vacation to the Smokey Mountains(pigeon forge) this week end so I won't be working on the ole truck...but she will be there when I get back and maybe some of my parts, I'll be lookin for some small stuff while I'm out of town too... |
Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
