Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread
I know you've heard this a few hundred times now, but that suburban looks amazing! I just spent an hour reading your build thread and I'm impressed. You ever go to the UVU car show at Thanksgiving point?

Thanks for looking at my build. The cruise nights and car shows I usually hit are Hires Big H, Jordan Landing, Taylorsville Dayzz, Cache Valley, Peach Days, Bountiful's. I usually don't make it down south, but I'll have to check it out. Quote:

I was inspired by the original owners, which are my good friends, Mike and Matt, who've I've known for years. I have good memories of cruising in this around town in my younger years. In recent weeks, the news that their mother had cancer and her passing, has saddened us all. Knowing that this suburban was her grocery go getter and family vacation cruiser, it reminds me whenever I take my family for a drive, of the good times a wonderful woman spent with her own. Her kind, sweet nature will be missed, for those she touched, were lifted up in her light and love. |

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread
Sorry guys, not much to report back, on this one at least.
I've had so much other stuff going on that I've placed this build on the back burner. I was able to aquire the A/C compressor and hoses. I'm waiting for the Suburban to turn 40. Here in Utah, anything 40+ years old is considered an antique and is exempt from emissions testing that I stuggle to pass every year. On a side note, I joined our local Severed-Ties club, I'm still a prospect. That's been a lot of fun; we've hit a couple of big car shows and a few cruise nights. I've spent the last year mostly working on my '93 Silverado, if you'd like to look at it, check out my build thread. A month ago, I picked up an '82 long bed s-10. Shortly after that, I bought a '51 Chev Suburban which I'll start a build thread here in the next couple of weeks. |

Check this out. 51 Suburban on a wrecked camaro subframe. I have to say I like charities cases. So far the S-10 frame is under the thing with a Vortec 4.3 that's been in my garage for the last 6 years. I'm going to use the old middle and 3rd row seats from the 72 Sub Because of the narrow width. http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/1951-001.jpg http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/1951-002.jpg Yes that does say drivable. http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/1951-034.jpg |

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread
Seems like it been forever since I posted anything new. I have been super busy at work and have spent most of my spare time working on the 51 burb. I've taken the 72 to a bunch of cruise nights and car shows this year; the most resent was the Cache Vally Cruise-in this last weekend. Here are some pics that I took from the last few weeks.
The 51 is on the road, but still needs a lot of small things before she finished. I bought this truck less than a year ago and I can't believe how far it has come since then. http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/1951-101.jpg http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/19723dr-458.jpg http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/19723dr-457.jpg |
Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread
Here are some from The Cache Vally Cruise-in in Logan Utah. The first two are in the campground and the rest are from the show. I am so glad I bought this truck and have had a blast driving it to events with my wife and kids. We put over 300 miles on here these past few weeks.:metal:
