Getting this panel to line up right was a pain in the ass to say the least.. I sanded off all the paint and bondo off both the bedside and taillight cap. I then measured about 5000 time and cut very little off at a time untill it fit somewhat good..

Re: Project 7deuce
I can see now there isn't nothing you can't accomplish, and not enough is said of somebody that just tackles a job and gets it done no matter how hard it might seem.
I'm sure your enjoying the process. |

So I'm a little late with the updates had a huge party at the house last night. So I didn't get as much done as I wanted to but here we go.. The e fans went in for the last time used all stainless hardware and some double sided foam that was sticky on one side and soft on the other. I used this to form a cushion between the fan shroud and radiator. I gotta thank sams60gmc for helping me make the shroud months ago.. You can see how dirty my engine compartment is from other work going on in the shop so I have detailing the motor back out on my list of things to do.. You can also see my sorry ass power steering lines that need to be addressed asap..

Finally found the chevy only sticker and threw it on thanks dino... While I was shopping for stainless bolts I figured what the hell the powersteering box looks like she could use some bling so i picked up some stainless cap screws to help it tie into the rest of the engine compartment.

Re: Project 7deuce
Hi,
I see you are using the same style radiator I am. I have a couple of questions. What fans are you using? how are you controlling them? thermostat? relays? Did you make any sketches of your shroud when you made it? I would like to make this same setup for my rig. I haven't ever worked with electric fans. Diggin the new crossmember! looks like your mount is do changing:) thanks http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1320585080 |
Re: Project 7deuce
I bought the fans off e bay awhile ago so not much help there.. As far as the shroud I just built it out of cardboard and transferred it over to metal.. Two tabs up top where the original fan shroud bolted to and to more bolts welded down below on the core support.. I just received the hayden fan controller from summit and should have it in this week sometime.. Also the nuts are welded to the backside of the shroud to enable the fans to bolt on.. MMMMMMM fans are 12 inch units...
