Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

haha yup lol. not a bad price at all, i have had mine since 06 and they are still nice and not all dried out or anything, so i would call it pretty good quality stuff. i also bought their tailgate/lift hatch seals and the seal for the hatch glass at the same time

did some cutting of uneeded under dash wireing and some wire wheeling, then i sprayed some rust converter around where the windshield rubber goes, behind the dash/inside fire wall, and above the inside of windshield, and started wire wheeling the paint and bondo off of my replacement fender so i can fix/redo it.

i wish i had the new pass. fender! what is wrong with the old fender?

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

they are both 68 fenders, but the new one is in way better shape and the marker weld job is done way better lol. the one i took off is warped aorund where the marker light was welded in due to using a cheap flux core welder and kept blowing through the cheap aftermarket metal being welded in. also it is messed up in the rear lowe corner due to a jack stand lol. dont ask how that one happened haha

drilled out the rivets and removed these from my grille as i have decided that i am no longer going to use them, cut the center grill support to make it look cleaner behind the grille since i will not be using the grill insert things. also drilled a 1/2" hole and cut a notch in the side of the dash to slide around the wiring that comes out through the bottom of the drivers side a pillar, then i cut out the backside of the replacement front fender for tire clearance

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

haha thanks, i like the way it looks without the grille inserts and turn signals in front. still need to finish the other fender so i can put it on and finish bolting the grille down and bolt up the splash pan.

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

are you gonna run the turn signals in the bmper 71 72 style?

project 67 sub 01-29-2011 01:02 AM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

ewwe heck no lol. might not run any, not sure yet. but if i do they will not be the stock ones. also i plan on running some wire mesh behind the grille openings. will then have to make an extension rod to open the hood. but if i do that i might hide the turn signals behind the wire mesh.
