Got the bed on today. This evening I picked up the hood and doors from the painter. Now I have everything I need to put the body back together. The doors and front clip will go on tomorrow. My custom "Stitch" made interior is in route, so we are tracking to have this build just about complete by Thanksgiving! Then we will call "Cletus" by a new name of "Completus"

I also test fired the engine today and she purrs like a kitty (an angry kitty with no exhaust system)

By the way this truck sits RIDICULOUSLY high! I am 6' 3" and the top of the tailgate comes up to my adam's apple!

Looks great! But I think it will be too pretty for a plow truck.

Thanks Dennis! Not nearly as cool as your truck, but it'll do the job I need it to and not look half bad doing it :)

Fantastic truck. I may have missed this earlier, but what size lift are you running and what size tires are those in these latest pics? Keep up the great work, great inspiration.

Now that is a tall order in Central NY this time of year! Since it's dark every evening when I get home from work, we'll see if the good Lord will give us some sunshine next weekend for ya!

No lift on the front and I'm thinking the previous owner threw another 3 springs in the rear. The wheels are all 16" rims, and off the top of my head I would say the tires are 285's but I'll double check that the next time I'm out there.

Looks good Charlie,

I dont know how you could bring yourself to put that magentic light on the roof after you painted it. I picked up a brand new back rack for mine on clearance shipped for 160 bucks with the light bar brackets.

I can dig up the web site if you want.

But man is that inspiring...I think Im gonna have to deliver the gas tank to you so I can see what youve been up to.

Yeah - I had the same thought on the light, that's why I put some thin fabric material in between the magnets and paint to protect it.

Glad to have you stop by anytime sir!

I found a nice mini bar here locally that ws used indoors as a demo, I picked it up prety cheap and its fully programaable so when I am out plowing at 3 am I dont have to have the whole bar on.

I need some of the energy you have to get things done around here.

And I'm gonna take you up on that visit when the weather gets nicer next year.

Did some piddly stuff last night. Worked on panel alignment for a while. I had a devil of a time with the driver's door for some reason. Installed the side marker lights on the fenders.

Re: 86 k 20 project "cletus"

Thanks guys.

I still need to decide what emblems to put on the fenders. I'd like to find some K20 emblems in new condition.

Between tomorrow and Saturday I'm planning the following:

1. Install windshield - DONE
2. Install hood - DONE
3. Finish bolting fender wells to fenders - DONE
4. Finish electrical system - DONE
5. Install my new "Stitch" interior that began arriving recently. - DONE
6. Strip and paint rims and install hub caps - DONE
7. Bleed brakes - DONE
8. Connect E-brake cable - DONE
9. Road test

I have an appointment on Monday to leave it at an exhaust shop and they will build me a nice dual system with rear exit. Then next Friday is my big appointment for the NY State inspection! At that point we should be just about done with this project! This is bitter sweet, but then it will be time to get rolling on Pops!

Well I've missed my Thanksgiving weekend deadline I set for myself. Oh well....I sure am close though. In the 2nd pic you'll see the wiring my father-in-law is doing. In this pic he is in the midst of installing a switch to switch back and forth from the plow lights to the grill lights. I still need to get some conduit to wrap it with...

In the 3rd pic you see my new seat cover from Stitch.

In the last pic you will see I am 1 headlight bezel short! I ended up with 2 bezels for the driver side and none for the passenger! Guess I'll be posting a WTB ad.

Just wanted to say i love the build. I have a U Pull here and can get a headlight bezel if needed. Should run about 10-15 plus shipping. Let me know if I can help.

Re: 86 k 20 project "cletus"

Charlie, he's talking about the trim around the headlight beadle and grill on each side are on the wrong side. If you look at the trim, there's a rounded corner and a square corner. The square corner should be at the top from the factory and yours are at the bottom. It'll work that way but it fits better the other way. My dads truck was like that when I got it from him before I parted it out
