Nice build. Looks great. I am surprised, with the console and new gauge cluster that you didn't modify the glove box to match, like a gen 1 Vette or Impala style. The symmetry would rock.

i was going to do something with the glove box but the dash was taking way longer then what i wanted.i will do the glove box during round 2 when i go through and change and mod stuff i missed in a couple years.

to be honest the wheels came off a toyota.before that from a gmc canyon.so it was just luck it worked out.i can get the back spacing for you if you want.

quick update.last box side ready for primer.hood almost ready.rad support mounts are fabbed and ready to be welded to the frame, rad support is now modified to run my wires/lines/power steering cooler and mounts for the over flow are in place.also primed and painted the rad support, inner fenders top and bottom.front clip is ready to go in place for good.im slowing picking the list off one job at a time.its getting smaller by the day.

still at it.the last little while i extended the wiring harness for the head lights, blinkers, driving light and sensors..so i could run the last of the wiring into the fire wall.got the block mounted to the main panel.then started to hook the 67 headlights up to the newer wiring harness.i got the rad support and inner fenders mounted for the last time.over flow bucket and rad in place and hooked up.power steering cooler now mounted in place, brackets made for the billet grill, inner roof and wind shield post painted with speckle paint.looks great in person.i ran into a bit of a problem with my dome light.the lense is nowhere to be found.so as a quick solution i did some hacking and made the dome light from the new sierra fit in its place.looks slick.also i have a new electric fan on order.im sure im forgetting more but thats it for now.

Re: Project...praise the lowered

the speckle paint gave it a nice finished look.laid down a black base then it only took one can to cover.the dome light might have taken 10 mins tops.all i did was trimmed about 1/4 inch on the top and bottom of the opening then notched out both ends for the mounting tabs.it was quite easy.

Re: Project...praise the lowered

i got a little more done this weekend.rear bag mounts completely welded,c notches completely welded, and all the suspension stuff in the rear painted with box liner.then i got the rear bags hooked up,pan hard bar installed, made a cool large grommet for the firewall where the front clip wiring goes through.and tonight i was able to get my wheels on,hook up the valves and made the whole truck go up and down a few times.good to finally be at that stage.because i had to raise the body up a little more then what i planned,it doesnt quite sit on the rockers but its pretty close

no pics today guys.i just spent from lunch time until dark trying to bleed the stupid f*#^in abs brake system.man its frustrating.im to the point now of just ditching the abs unit.i can pressure the rear brakes for bleeding but cant get any pressure for the fronts.i tried everything.i think its losing pressure inside the abs unit.any one have any ideas? keep in mind the system is from the 01 sierra i used a a donor truck.and it was completely drained for sand blasting and paint.also all new lines.any one?

Re: Project...praise the lowered

Maybe a new ABS unit? Have you tried backwards bleeding the system?

blue_69 10-24-2011 04:44 AM

Re: Project...praise the lowered

i have had this happen before with gm abs brakes. Usually i open all the bleeders and leave the cap off the master cylinder for 30 minutes to an hour. Keep an eye on it so it does not run out of fluid. After that i close everything up and have someone pump the brake real slow and steady until there is some pedal the bleed each wheel normally just pump the brake slow each time. If you push the pedal fast or there is a bubble in the abs block it closes a valve in the abs block.
