uh, you talkin to me? :smoke: :lol: I have a full breathing system and it works very well. Below is a link to my blog telling about it. I'm working trying to make my blog interesting. ;) I recommend a full breathing system for sure! What's really neat, is to put the "air supplier" in a AC'd area and pump cool air to the face mask/hood. Especially nice when sandblasting using the full hood!

i have a supplied air system as well... have had it for years... a good friend in a local body shop died a few years back... he had been painting for years... the name "Faribran"... is what we named our property. it is a portion of the names of 3 family members; spouse, Faye (FA), mine, Richard (RI), son, Brandon (BRAN). :-) i am impressed with all the things you have done and are still doing to your truck... |

I've been following your build and I just had to tell you how impressed I am at the work you're doing. My wife is a gear head that loves to do things on her own too and you just don't find that very often anymore. I have to commend you for taking on as much of this work as you have. Keep up the great work on this worth while little project truck. It's going to be a real head turner

Gee you guys know that I really eat up compliments! ;) I had a girlfriend come over and she really hadn't see my(our) garage, and she walks around looking at the stuff going on, looks at me and says in her british tone,"and you like doing this!?" I laughed! I'll be 58 tomorrow, I hope my ailments don't get any worse as I'd like one more smaller project before I throw the towel in on these larger projects. Like a tiny car or something. ; )

I'm just working on little things that doesn't require a lot of neck bending since my neck is kind of giving me a fit:devil: I thought the headlight bezels were heavier, kind of thin stuff, but look ok. I worked on the grill too, but won't be installing as of yet. This grill I bought off of CL in calif. it's an original, but as usual didn't realize how rusty the backside is. The man had it hanging in his garage for 30 years and decided to part with it. If I had it to do over, I would have bought a repop. I did put new lenses and new sockets that take the 1157 bulb(2 filaments). Wiring~ so far so good! ; )
Hi! I didn't think I'd ever figure out the headlight wiring, but I got them working! I was worried that maybe somewhere along the way I didn't wire something correctly, but I guess I followed the directions as stated. ; ) I just had to put the truck back down on the ground again! I hope to have it running soon~ I did stop by my local exhaust shop and he made me a couple pipes (mini headers) to come off of my block huggers, but he didn't bend them enough, no biggy. I changed my mind about doing the exhaust myself, I've been having enough neck problems~ I don't need to aggravate it anymore than I already have. Maybe if I had a full lift in a large open garage I might have~wishful thinking!

Good morning!
Yesterday Dave Chapman come over to see about making a relay system for my electric fan, but while he was here, I had tried to start my engine but couldn't get it to lite!! I had gas but no fire coming out of the plug wire from the HEI dist. Luckily Dave drove up and I got his input; ). We found a problem but still no fire. After Dave left, I went to pull the dist cap off again, but this time I found that the plug that plugs into the dist cap( not the batt wire), one of the terminals wasn't all the way into its place and wasn't making contact! This time, I turned the key~ and vroom! ; ). I hot wired my electric fan to work so I could run the engine up to operating temp, then top off the fluids. I couldn't run it too much longer as the loudness was getting to me! But it runs!!!!!!!! I may just pay the bucks and have a wrecker come get it and take it to the muffler shop! Thank you! It was definitely exciting! My mom was sitting in the garage when it made contact! A small basketball came from the carburetor, mom says what was that?! Ah nuttin ma! ;). I bought the cheapest mufflers I could find so I can run the engine. I'm still debating on the hugger headers whether to keep them or not, before I spend the money on the rest of the exhaust. I'd really like long tube headers, but not sure what will work.

Well, while waiting on another set of headers, long tube this time, I'm working on getting my radio functioning! I hope this works, but I put my remote brake fluid reservoir from Scotts on the kick panel. The tubes run behind the kick panel. If for some reason it doesn't flow, I'll redo the kick panel.
