Nice numbers, going to be lots of fun. I've gone with Hedman 1 3/4" primary, 3" collector long tube headers. I like your 3/4 length shorties, what are the specs on them, and what make (look like Hedman's)? Your Dad will love it.

Thanks guys I am not sure if I am running these headers. These are hedmans I think the are inch and a half into 3inch collectors.

You would have to ask nate but I am sure 4 link would work. I have 2.75 inches between the bag mount back of the wheel. As far as teeth think the trucks look nice you should see my pts teeth.

What size rear tires are you running? Awesome work by the way!

What is full offset? I dont know much about rims.

belowme51 03-20-2011 04:52 PM

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

full offset means that he was able to get as much lip as possible. pretty much the center part of the wheel was attached to the hoop as far back as the wheel width would "safely" allow. the backspacing of the wheel will decrease the lower the offset.

This was the hardest part of the build do to the fact that the truck was already painted. I had to be super careful. I like the result;)

looks great gonna come out great with the red liner!

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

I changed my mind on the red liner I think it will be to much for the truck. I have decided to go with black. What do you guys think. Still doing the red interior and satin red paint inside the truck.

Yes, I think a black bed liner will look the best! The red interior will be awesome! The bed looks great by the way!

I would build a raised wood floor, put it on gas struts so you can store stuff under it, do a fairly dark wood and polished stainless strips (the smooth hidden fasteners ones from mar-k maybe)... I know that's far from what your going for but... I think it'd really suit the truck.

LOVE the truck btw.

Wood floors are high maintance and this is an everyday driver. I am not a fan of full raised floors as I feel they take away from the way the inside of the bed. Thanks for your input. ;)

:agree: black will look better but the interior is going to be a nice pop of color!

I think so too Mario told me Eric dont you dare paint the bed red it will make the truck look like a repaint. Which he was right I never thought of it like that.

Eric, Red definitely would be to much, just out of place I think. Black is the best choice.

The truck looks GREAT man. I am really enjoying this build as it progresses. Thanks for takin the time to post it up for us to enjoy. Awsome truck man, just Awsome

Thats why I post my builds on here so we can bounce ideas off of each other. I want peolpe to like the truck and you guys have great ideas so don't worry about letting me know what you think. ;)

In that case I vote for hot pink bedliner. :) :D  :haha:

As for a red bedliner, I must admit, it could work as a compliment to the red interior but it would have to match. If the shade was different, it would look like two things slapped together. Then again, it could be too much red. And, black has a greater universal appeal. It will probably wear better too.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Eric If your going w/ black carpet in the interior,You could do the sides red & fade it into a black floor. You'll have to spray the sides & the front first & wait till its dry then mask it & spray the black. But I wouldnt do all red,I sprayed a srt8t & I used ppg red tint in the liner material Holly Sh-t was it bright, you needed sunglasses to look at it. This might give you some sense of what it'd look like in Red.

I have always liked this truck

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

My .02, red would look hot with a slim black tonneau (sp?)... maybe bed wood strips as a tonneau... I have a rendering of a 72 I did with the bed wood as a cover... looked slick

Leave it to someone to mess with your head...;) I was sitting on the fence, your truck is more polished, doesn't need a red bed to make it special, all black will be classier, red interior...enough accent. If you had a hard tonneau then the red box would be a great wow factor when you lift it.
But that flat '67 looks hot. It'll be great either way, I agree with your painter on this one.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Red paint and red rhino liner i think are two totally different things. Once you add that texture that the bed liner has i believe it would kill the brightness of the red that that flat black truck above has. Just my opinion.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

just to add one more option.....

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...Rearangle1.jpg

Note: I would have personally painted the back part black so you don't see the red above the bumper......

His had a red interior also.... :D

superflysteiny 03-21-2011 08:09 PM

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

I like that but the red under the bumper is tacky

Alot of the new liners have a gloss and can be color matched to any color. But the cost is crazy expensive 950 whick I think is alittle expensive for something that is taped and sprayed. 450 for black
