Here is my 67 Chev CST Custom Camper. Originally 327, th400, rear leafs, buddy buckets, power brakes, wood bottom bed, dealer installed slide out rear bumper. Bought in Brigham city, UT with a 9' camper. When Dad bought it, it still had the camper, 327 had been replaced with a 305 (WTF???) And she had white spoke wheels on her. Dad yanked the 305, dropped a 350 with an RV cam in it and we went camping. Unfortunately, the camper succumbed to rot, and Dad inherited Grampa's camper which was in better condition, so it was scrapped. Not long after I bought this from Dad, proceeded to cut the dash for that new Pioneer faceless deck that I just "had to have". Drove her for about 6 years, during which i married and had two kids, lost interest in the truck and sold her. Fastforward 10 years, i bought her back from the guy I sold her to (I think he was sick of me bugging him). Currently she's in the garage waiting for her drivetrain to be pulled and rebuilt.
Oh yeah, and it aint really MY truck, it's my dogs. Just ask her, she'll tell ya. |
Re: CUSTOM CAMPERS lets see them!
Now THAT'S a good looking cattle dog. Mine thought all my trucks were his too. He'd get so excited to jump in and go for a ride, ha. Your TRUCK is awesome too, very nice. Thanks for posting it.

Re: CUSTOM CAMPERS lets see them!
Thanks man. She has been an unbelievable friend for the last 12 years. Dude, I can't START that truck without her tearing up the house or yard to get to it. Took her for a ride in my Sentra as the 67 is down, you'd have thought I'd kicked her by the looks I was getting!
The 305 (they definitely have their place, no 350, but not terrible) my Dad replaced long ago. Currently pulling the 350/th400 combo out to freshen the engine, then thinking 4 sp auto. Buddy gave me a 200 4r, so what the heck right? |

This is my 71 custom camper 20. It was well used when I bought it in '96 and I drove it daily until 2011 when I decided to fix her up. Body work is done, everything has been sandblasted, all rust repaired, frame powdercoated etc...just need money for paint.

ttt!
with yet two more Custom Campers I WISH I'd bought... :dohh: 1st was quite nice - 68 C20 Custom Camper big block - but it was way far away. Hope someone on here nabbed it, I really liked it. 2nd was an even more loaded 68 C20 CST Custom Camper big block with buddies and the works. I still don't know why I didn't buy it - it and ol yeller were both reasonably priced. Lastly, a motivational Chevy Camper Magazine ad pic from 72 (even though it's not technically a Custom Camper :)). |

Any new additions?
I bought this 1968 C20 Custom Camper 50th about 4 months ago. She not much to look at as she has been lowered. Future plans are raise her back up to stock height and add some larger tires, after that put some miles on it. Factory equipt with 327 and manual 4 speed with heavy duty leaf sprung rear end. 327 is gone and a 1972 350 resides in its place. |

Been doing work on mine past 2 years also research on the truck couldnt find a paint number on the truck spid just shows the complex two tone found out it's a Husky edition . The Husky edition was a single Dealer promo truck as far as I can assertain several hundred were made. Truck was ordered from university chevrolet Seattle washington late 1971 Truck was painted placer gold GM car color from the factory .

Interesting about the Husky edition. Would like to learn more. Here’s a decal from a 72 Suburban indicating that GM began offering a “Trailering Special” package that I’d like to learn more about as well.

Re: CUSTOM CAMPERS lets see them!
One could buy cars with a towing package. Two things I recall were a larger radiator and lower rear gears. I didn't pay much attention to the trucks in those days ('70-'72).

Re: CUSTOM CAMPERS lets see them!
Sure glad you had the build sheet for documentation, otherwise you would have the nay sayers chime in. Yes, there were always some dealer promotions available during these years (certain colors with certain options) but very hard to document these special builds with standard GM literature. GMC had a special promotion.http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=gmc+contender

Hi all, I was wondering if anybody could identify this slide-in camper we had when I was a boy. My dad used to take us everywhere in it.
The truck was a red 1968. I'm guessing the slide-in camper came with it as the color schemes match. Our slide-in camper looks a lot like the Winnebago's from that period, I've attached a couple pictures I found online from 1969. |
