Just picked her up from a family member a week ago. 5 years without a start. A little Heet and a new battery and vroom vroom!! Carb is shot and obviously needs some body work, but a 68' chevy none the less. Supposedly it is a custom camper edition, but it only has the 307 and no camper markings. 4 on the floor.

The truck was bought by the original owner of the family property and was used solely for hauling grain trucks and other farm equipment. Fortunately for the odometer, the grain processing plant is 1.5 miles away.

28,000 miles!!!! Entirely factory original, including the tires and bed wood. Believe it or not the tires still hold air. Drove about 10 miles on them.

Cool! :welcome2: I see two things that I think are NOT correct/factory/original...I'm not going to tell you what they are though!:lol: Hint...one is in the middle of the front wheel and the other is in the middle of the rear wheel. There may be two more but I can't see the other side.

FYI, I have the same caps as yours on my '69...not right for mine either. They are for '73 and up I believe.

Thanks again. That kind of frees me up to look at other wheels. Now I just have to figure out size ratios. I like a little rake but nothing too dramatic.

I have stock caps on my '67. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but from what I can tell Chevy offered a few different styles of hubcaps depending on the package options. I did do a repaint on the logo and the band...they were pretty worn, but here's mine...

70' bedside tool box, hd coils all around, factory 350/3ott. Manual everything, no ac. Bought it up in flagstaff (2 hrs, 150ish miles from me) and limped it back. Rebuilt 2 barrel carb (was factory emissions truck), cleaned tank pickup and replaced fuel pump, put my retrosound radio in and a new underdash speaker, threw hubcaps on and have been driving it everyday to school work for 3 weeks now. I just bought 2 new tires for the front, tractor rears are staying for awhile. Next is engine work, no lifter on #2 intake.. Ever hear of the rare sbc v7?? Compression is low on all other cylinders and it leaks everywhere possible. It came up a 78' 350 so I don't think I'll rebuild it. The paint will shine up nice like the hood i hope.

Interior was gone through at some point. Don't like the pattern but it's nice enough for now!

Man, good score! Those Retrosounds are pretty good too huh? I have one in mine, with a "mono"/stereo dual cone speaker. Sounds perfect with an ipod shuffle fulla old Link Wray and such....you should try out some of the ColorBond paint for you interior...i did, and it's great! Can't believe it. White would look good with that red...maybe do the door panels and the dash...

x2, nice truck. I agree on the white interior panels.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

Update: Painted front wheels. Overspray doesnt matter I have new 235/75/15's on the way. Also wanted a 4th hubcap.. but only had rusty 73-77(i think, or 75) so i painted one up. The white came out good and the blue looks good from a far, but its brushed on and looks bad up close. Doesn't matter, looks good enough until I get another take-off and cost a total of $2 and left over wheel paint. I also didnt paint the white perfectly so as to mach the others, they were nos but shelf wear.

Very beautiful truck! Where in Houston do you cruise in? I usually bring mine out on sunday morning for breakfast. Looking forward to the nifty fifties out in spring.
