Highlander package is 1972 only, must have had a seat from a 72 Highlander added at some point.

That’s a fun thread too. Oddly, the green and orange sound better to me than blue and orange. Green and orange are so 70s

How much price difference do you think a Highlander would have compared to a similar non-HL?

Okay looking 69 C20 in Carmichael, CA (near Sacramento, CA). Factory air, power steering, etc. for $1500. It's at least worth a look, but my wife would kill me...

It's pretty weird. There was a short while 1.5 years ago where I was trying to sell my 1968 GMC C2500 and I couldn't give it away... I went all the way down to $1,500 and nobody wanted it. It's rust free, it has the original 327 in it, four on the floor with a granny gear, etc. I love it, but nobody was interested around here. The interest locally are for half tons and people want them lowered and tricked out.

Most times these clowns only have email. I guess that is so they can interview you before replying back to you ( at their convenience of course). It seems like you need to beg for them to call you back. There must be a new club out there, like www.emailmakesmecool.com. This must give them something to giggle about with their friends around the s’more making, Kool aid chugging campfire after they get done with their burger flipping day job. UNBELIEVABLE

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

That’s hilarious. I replied to his ad almost a week ago and he finally sent me a picture of the engine from about 20 feet away and instead of a picture of the SPID that I had asked for, there was a map of the Home Depot from a hundred miles away?

Wow, 18K mi and it looks it. No, I probably wouldn't pay that price for a 70 K20 stepper on an average day - but a zero rust one with 18k mi? Hmmm... I'd say he's not "too" far off. Final negotiated price might be a little more in the ball park, who know - seller does state 'or best reasonable offer'. Great find.

I have a general question about that truck. It has c20 fender emblems, shouldn't it have k20 fender emblems? But I noticed that it also has a "4wheel drive" emblem on the front of the fender. Was this a 4wd conversion?

jocko 07-13-2018 07:14 PM

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Nope not a conversion, looks to be a factory K (but only the VIN can confirm that). There were no K10 or K20 emblems, only K5s on the Blazers. It's correctly marked. The 4 wheel drive nameplate is correct also, 1970 was the last year for that. In 71/72, the C/20 would have been replaced with the trim level emblem (Custom/20, Custom20/Deluxe, Cheyenne20, Cheyenne20/Super, etc etc). Optional engine callout would be moved to under the side turn signal lens (where the 4 wheel drive nameplate is now) and the 4 wheel drive nameplate was no longer around.

Why do the front hubs look weird? It's late, and I don't recall the correct term, but these do not appear to be "lock-out" hubs. It appears 4WD would always be engaged.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Good question - locking hubs were optional, so on a no-kidding brush truck, either there would be no need for them if it was always gonna live on the dirt or maybe they just went absolute bottom dollar on a fire truck purchase. Or they could be this type and just full of dirt n grease (really is kinda hard to tell in the pic).

Ol Blue K20 07-14-2018 08:41 AM

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I can't remember the name of that hub plate either. But it makes the gears and drive shaft spin all the time
