Was there ever a solution to the pad rubbing the rotor hat issue? Mine are scoring pretty hard...

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

I received your payment today. I will get those shipped out on Monday.

You do realize that the D52's are the only caliper that will bolt up to these brackets, right?

Good morning Captain. I am going to place an order this morning for the Astro brackets--I will be using the D52 calipers eventually.

Thanks.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

I have not had that issue with what I have mocked up here. One other customer has had that issue, but he has not gotten back to me with the measurement I need to determine what needs to be done to correct the situation. I don't want to just move the caliper out farther, and have the pads hanging past the outer edge of the rotor, if I don't have to. I just need someone to help me out with the measurement I need.

I don't have a pic of the dimension I need, on this computer. I will get it from my shop computer tomorrow and post it here.

Here is a pic showing the dimension I need from those that have had a brake pad to rotor hat interference issue. Once I know what you have I can make the necessary change, and get you a set of brackets to correct the issue.

You need the 3.5182 distance? I'll see what I can do this eve...

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Yes, that is the measurement I need. Yours may or may not measure 3.5182. Once I know what yours measures, I can have a set made that will solve the pad rubbing issue.

Will these parts work with the D52 brackets? Just checking before I order them.

ROTORS:

CALIPERS with ebrake:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aa...model/eldorado

I know i will have to get one for the passenger side and one for the driver side but I wanted to make sure I had the right ones.

Thanks guys!

Cap'n,
Any news on the e-brake levers for the Eldo calipers? I'm waiting on the availability of those levers. As soon as they are, I'll be placing my order. We need an e-brake in TX to pass inspection. Thanks.

I don't have them done yet, but I'm trying to find the time to get them finished. I know there are a few of you guys needing them.

I took some time today and made some progress on the Eldorado caliper levers and cable brackets.

I got 2 sets of levers formed up, but they ended up about 3/16" shorter than the originals. But I think they would still work. Regardless, I am going to order some longer ones laser cut next week. I also got the cable brackets drawn up on AutoCad, and will get some of those laser cut as well.

Got me some astro van rotors but they are way to thick for my Eldo calipers. Has anyone had this problem?

Do you have the '76-'78 calipers? Which pads do you have?

Yes I have the 76-78 calipers and I got Wearever silver brake pads. MFG NAD 122

Duralast Rotors
Bolt Pattern Diameter (mm): 127
Rotor Bore Diameter (mm): 78.5
Rotor Initial Thickness (mm): 32.70
Rotor Outside Diameter (mm): 295
Rotor Overall Depth (mm): 83

Wearever Silver Brake Pads - Rear
Friction Material Thickness, Inner Pad: 0.4 in
Friction Material Thickness, Outer Pad: 0.43 in
Front or Rear Brakes: Rear

Fenco Disc Brake Caliper, Rear Right & Left

I can not figure it out. I mean the rotors will NOT fit in the calipers with the brake pads installed....? The rotors are like .25 in too big..?

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Did you check to see if the shaft is rotated as to engage the parking brake function of the caliper. If not you might try turning the shaft coming out of the back of the caliper. A box end wrench or a deep socket should work to grab it. I just don't remember what size off hand.

The parking brake is not engaged. The caliper piston is all the way back. The rotor will not fit with the brake pads installed. My rotors are 1.29" thick. Have you ever heard of this issue before? What is the inside width of your calipers and how thick are the brake pads you are using?

I have a pair of used calipers at the shop. I'll check out the fitment tomorrow and post my findings here. I have not heard of this issue from any of my other customers.

Do you know of any customers that we can contact? Perhaps they can be of some assistance too. What size rotor, caliper inside width, and brake pad width and what brand they went with is all I need.

thanks!
