Tim,

Same exact wheels, same exact color and very simialr tires as on my '72 C-10. I could post a picture, but if you remember, I'm not good at it, lol.

I do agree that the term ''steelies'' usually refers to stock style steel wheels that come on base trucks but I don't care they're made of steel lol. i do have a set that will go on my truck later but this is what I got now.

You know how jealous I am of your N.O.S. caps,right? :D I saw them listed with 0 responses and at that time if I had $100 to my name I'd be lucky.:whine: Actually,they're prolly too nice for what I'm building. But to have 4 primo wall hangers woulda sure been cool.

How hard is it to find the 15x8 steelies? I have a set of 15x6's. Who can I get to widen them?

Ask around on the widening. They sure are tough to find. Ask dirt track racers. A lot of them have "built" wheels or at least they used to. I need to find a place near here. I want a pair of 10s. I know years ago my dad had a set of 8 or 10" wagon wheels built for his Land Rover. They were completely fabricated. I wish I had found out back then. He's gone now and besides,that was in '78 or so. They may not be around any more.

I just swapped out the slotted wheels and big tires that my truck came with for a set of steelies. I painted the new wheels with some WalMart spray paint and put some skinny tires on them to get more of a stock look.

The steelies came to me with the car dog dish hubcaps but I kind of dig the look and will keep them around for a while.

Sicklajoie and CUSHE63, those are awesome looking rides. Im a huge fan of the steel wheel look, but sometimes I think slots would look pretty cool, and then I see trucks like yours, and it smacks me back where I belong =)

(I still really like slots though lol)

I like both, too, and I like the Alcoas that originally came with my truck. But it's hard to beat steelies! :chevy:
