I somehow skipped over Chrysler products in my '61 binge. I guess that's because I never found them even close to the same category. Big huge cars, yes, but sweet? YeahIdunno  This must be where I formed my opinion, as a kid, that Chevy had the best styling, other GMs added superficial changes, Ford more bumps and bulges, and Chrysler used whatever was left over and then some. Don't get me wrong, at this point I think anything from back then is cool as all get out. Maybe I was also prejudiced by the model kit companies. AMT was my favorite and they did Fords and Chevys mostly. Johann did the funky uncool stuff like Chrysler and Rambler. AMT dig the 3 in 1 kits and I liked dragsters and hot rods. Ford is where a lot of the old car hobby came from. Hemmings started out as a Model A collector publication and Hershey started out for Model As. Enough about all that. Just my opinion. Here are some land yachts |

We don't normally think of European cars when we are talking huge cars. They remained more sensible, as well as not having the hiways like we do.
How about this for sweet and huge from '32? I think it's called a Bucciali Tav 12? Maybe it's a custom built retro, but in the photo code it says '32 Attachment 2171927 EDIT: Nope, looked it up. This was a French car company that lasted from '27-'33, two brothers. All I can say is "Dayum!" |

Wow, taking that into town would definitely make a statement.

It's got the weight distribution bars on it and she's still tail dragging. Must be really loaded. ;)

Re: sweet huge cars, 2 or 4 door, gm, ford, anything goes, lets see some pics
In the 80's I had a girlfriend that was looking for a car. I tried to talk her into a Mark V Lincoln because I wanted to drive it around. Despite all my smooth talking which in retrospect wasn't so smooth because she bought a Nissan pickup. I never drove that :(

This may be controversial but I always liked these. Maybe that's why I have one.
Hey it was the 80's. Cars were ugly. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...um/82_Eldo.jpg And that is not my car ^^ It's waaaay too clean. This is my old girl. I need to put some whitewalls on her. She runs fine for 400 bucks. I'm the second owner. I bought it at an estate sale. No keys. My buddy who I believe may have been involved in some criminal activity in his younger years Started it with his knife. Honest to god. He started it with a knife. I use a screwdriver and look like total white trash in it. I have new locks and ignition for it. I just haven'r got around to it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...lvis_Caddy.jpg http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...dium/Tails.jpg |
Re: sweet huge cars, 2 or 4 door, gm, ford, anything goes, lets see some pics
Nothing wrong with that car. My MIL had a '79 I think it was. Might have been the first year of that body style, black cherry type color. I loved that car. My girlfriend/wife had a turquoise looking one with matching interior. I thought I was hooking up with $$. Her father loved Caddys. Her brother had one of those hideous humpback Sevilles. It was a diesel swap to an Olds 350.
