Thanks. Progress will be slow but will try, especially when I get stuck.

Welcome to the board! We have a diesel conversion section here in the engine section. The hyper link at the bottom of my signature will take you there. Feel free to post a thread on there. There are several 81-87s with Cummins engines in them. At least 1 24v for sure. I'm sure we can guide you in the right direction. I have a 76 that has one in it but it is a project and on hold. I have done 3 squares besides my own so far. Your truck is in great shape. We don't get to see that here much. :metal:

Once upon a time I had a crew cab but I sold it to get a more dependable family vehicle.

'91 V3500 w/ 6" lift & 35's

I sold it back in '07 and always wondered what happened to it. This is a huge site, does anybody recognize it? Maybe it belongs to someone here?

Sorry trying to figure out this picture attachment deal.

I see you are running wheel spacers up front. Was that once a dually? What size spacers are needed to match up the WMS front to back? I could measure, but I haven't started my build yet.

I think that was boardmember bagged74's old ride that another boardmember (yellowGT) re-vamped.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II

Just scored another K30.

Back story, had a cherry 87 K30 Silverado dually, in regular cab with factory Camper Special package. Like a fool I traded it in for the, as then new Jeep TJ in 1997.

Have wanted another for many years, but timing, funds and the unicorn like rareness of nice ones, eluded me.

Enter a local craigslist score and I traded a 2003 Harley Davidson Road King to the owner for the truck.

86 K30 / 4speed dually in custom deluxe trim.

Purchased new in 1986 by a Virginia Fire Dept., stored inside in its own bay for its life there and loved tenderly, until it was auctioned off with 35,000 original miles on the odometer.

I now trade into this truck and drove it for the first time this evening. Basically its super clean and drives like a 1 or 2 year old truck, but looks exceptionally clean for a 30 year old.

All checks out very well on mechanics and it drives straight, does not pull, all accessories work and has no rattles or squeaks.

Plans are 6" of spring lift and going to singles on rear, rear winch of sufficient size and 38" tires.

Looked at this today. 1989 Chevy V3500 454 ci 4x4 automatic. not sure of the price yet, the guy is thinking of it overnight. its a really clean truck minus the interior is a little rugged. 280,000 kms. there is no major rust. just some on the door edge. whats your thoughts? Burgundy in color

I shortened it to a short bed frame.

Now to swap to 4x4 and get my lift on.

Once that is done hopefully I will be ready to swap in the 6.5TD and NV4500
