Re: Our Trucks Doing What They Did - Vintage Photo Thread
Martin Sr's pic of Krajack tank lines,
Man this picture brings back memory's of my Dad, he worked for a Mobil service station back in the early 50-60's and drove a truck like this one with a Gas tanker trailer on the back, he was delivering gas to a station in Wickenburg Az back in the day and was headed out on Grand ave, the major highway thru town, The truck was not running right for some reason and my Dad pulled over on the road to work on it, he left the truck running and crawled underneath to fix something ?? not sure what to this day, he had a Nylon windbreaker jacket on at the time and got to close with his right arm to the PTO (Power take off) and the end of the PTO caught his jacket and twisted on his arm and wrapped him pulling him and his arm up, Thank God the truck was running bad because it stopped running and there my dad was on the side of the road hanging from the trans it was late in the evening and no one stopped to help him, he managed to work his jacket off his left arm and finally got himself free after close to 2hr's stuck there.I remember him coming home with a Horrible Nylon burn on his arm from being twisted up. left a burn mark all along his arm, He was very lucky tho to still have that arm! As I begin to get ready for a day of snow removal I thought I'd do something a little different. There's both a TF and an AD in this one.

^^^ That's a cool shot. Anyone know where that is? I see snow on the peak. Is that a dam in front or some other kind of structure? Railroad trestle, aqueduct?
|
Re: Our Trucks Doing What They Did - Vintage Photo Thread
If its a dam that would be (or was) a bad location.

Publicity still from 1963 film “A Ticklish Affair” with Shirley Jones and Carolyn Jones (aka Morticia Adams).

https://www.flickr.com/photos/117891...56683/sizes/l/ It appears to be a dam. The photo was taken by a professional photographer, Dave Gelinas. If you look through Flickr he's taken many cool car related photos over the years. https://live.staticflickr.com/7843/3...d7a68fc3_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/4228/3...64f22c1e_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/1619/2...82792987_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/4228/3...18a477c8_w.jpg He also appears to be on aaca. |
