You know...I was just thinking the other day how the 7" wide Keystone Kustomag Klassic wheel is a groovy eye-grabber to light your fire.

Thanks for taking the time to look as well! |
Re: WTB magazine ad
Ok. I hunted up a few and it's not in any of the Hot Rod or PHR. I had a couple of Popular Science from 66 and they had alot of car and truck ads in them. I've got those all the way through the mid 70's, so when I get a chance I'll dig them out.
On a side note-I have tons of cool Chevelle, Camaro, Nova, etc ads if anyone else is interested in them. of course there's the Ford and Mopar junk too. |
Re: WTB magazine ad
See ten, I have been watching this post pop up from time to time for 2 years now and it has me wanting to help. Can you give me some specifics on the add, was it a dealer issue add or was it run in your old hot rodding books. Any info would help. I have a buddy that has been the parts manager at my local small town Chevy dealer for 25 yrs. and does not toss anything away so if it is a dealer issue he may let me dig in some of his stuff.
Thanks PT |
Re: WTB magazine ad
I appreciate the effort guys! I've got no idea where it came from originally but I think it was a magazine ad. So much of the dealership literature shows up over and over again....I've seen this one once.

Re: WTB magazine ad
Look in life,Look,Outdoor Life,Field & Stream and such. You didn`t really see pickup ads in hot car mags back then. The picture you see him show was one the one that got away...on Ebay.
See Ten wants this ad and no other. You see,it has the same paint as his`72 C/10.I found the actual truck from the ad,but figured he wasn`t interested so I didn`t say anything. I`m looking for a`72 GMC ad that has a white Sierra if you find one. |
Re: WTB magazine ad
you still looking for this?
|
Re: WTB magazine ad
Yes,I`m sure he is.

Re: WTB magazine ad
I dunno... he went from a post a week to an 8 month no-show.
Perhaps while taking a stroll in a far off land he ventured into an old bookstore, to the far reaches of the last aisle, at the bottom of the last shelf where amongst the old magazines he shuffled through the yellow edged pages only to find the stale smell of antiquated print and the occasional rat dropping, he started to feel that empty feeling coming back to him. But then he saw something, something familiar, it looked like... yes it was... it was the partial leg of a Thrush™ model, rising up from the rear of the shelf where the magazine had fallen into the gap, a gap created by the cheap press-board backing separating from the bookcase. He slowly removed the magazine from its wedged position and quickly turned the pages, being careful not to tear them in his haste. "Nothing", he thought as he neared the end, but as he flipped the back page closed, what was there on the back cover of that magazine?... yes, it was the coveted gauntlet of his Chevy Truck ad world... his quest was over, but maybe... just maybe... ... he's still there, sitting on the floor, legs crossed, elbows resting on his knees, head in his hands, staring with a huge smile at the back of a magazine. |
Re: WTB magazine ad
That was priceless...

Re: WTB magazine ad
dazza that was killer!! Do you write copy for a living? I'm interested in your services.
|
Re: WTB magazine ad
thanks BlazerAddict, and the answer is no, writing is not my trade although I've been mumbling about changing careers for sometime. Maybe I should write about it... turn some fiction into reality. I'd be up for trying something if your serious, PM me when you get a chance.
Anybody heard from See Ten? We might have to put an ad in the paper for lost ad boy! ;-) |
