Just got my welder back from police impound

I once had a smart azz city cop impound my 42 willys jeep. He pulled me over to "look it over" he wouldnt believe that the riveted on vin tag was the way it was back then. it took me 2 weeks to find where they took it.the only way I found it was the highway patrol called to lell me that they had varified the numbers. when I went to the tow company it wasnt in the yard. After i threatened them with a theaft carge. Avery red faced mechanic led me to a a garage in back where somone had been working on it:lol: that was 25 years ago. it is still refered to when the jeep got arrested:lol:

Sorry missed your reply. I'm out in Westmoreland county by Murrysville. I'd love to check out your trucks in person some day if possible! And taking the truck down to world of wheels this year?

Just a quick note. I have the Classic Trucks with your 54 on the cover and my daughter noted that this was the only car magazine she liked. She loves the patina and the flatnose look of the 54. I do too by the way! It is something special. Hope to see it in person. Any chance you would come to Street Rod nats in Louisville?

rocks, I know this thread is a little old so some guys might not get on it too often. I don't mean to answer a question that isn't aimed at me but, Fritz sold this truck.

again, I feel weird answering for fritz. I follow him on IG and he seems to be doing just fine. driving his GILOW truck. I last spoke with him at pittsburgh autorama, he had his GILOW truck there. He said ivy is in NY now.

Thanks for the reply 99! I figured not too many would see it just wanted to acknowledge the workwanship that went into that machine. Love reading these threads as it gives us all motivation to stay on top of our projects.
