I have a collection of front drivelines now. The top one was on the truck when I got it and has a bad slip joint. The middle one is 'ol bendy. The bottom one is brand new from High Angle Driveline in Paradise, CA.

Re: '72 Cheyenne K10
Still a long checklist:
Check spark plugs, tune-up Fix brake lights staying on - pedal not returning all the way! Improve braking? Install front driveline Replace rear driveline u-joints Install 1" zero rate blocks in rear axle Fix leaking thermostat housing Service or rebuild transmission (leaking) Service transfer case (swap with other one? twin stick?) Install radio (speakers?) Replace windshield washer hoses / test washer pump Install cowl debris screen Replace valve cover gaskets Install door panels Replace headlights and adjust Repair weld lumber rack |

I took the new u-joints out of the bent front driveline today. I think they are the same as the rear driveline, so I can still use them.

This morning I made some big jack stand blocks that will make it safer to work under the truck.

I installed a Kenwood Digital Media Receiver today. I still need to replace the speakers, but I have a working stereo and I can take hands free bluetooth phone calls. I put the microphone in the ash tray so it is hidden.

New door speakers are installed. Some door panels would probably help the sound.

Thanks, I need some for the holes in my doors. The easiest way to fill the holes without welding.

I installed 1" zero rate blocks from Offroad Design to get the rake that I want. It was too level for my taste. They sent me the wrong u-bolts (9/16" instead of 5/8"), but these will work until I can get the right ones. I'm going out for a test drive now and I'll try to get a good side view photo.

Re: '72 Cheyenne K10
Looking forward to side pics. Mine sits low in the rear. I may need to do this too.

Side view.
I like it. It doesn't look like the back is jacked up or sagging down. Attachment 2062522 Attachment 2062523 Attachment 2062524 |

Looks good and easier than adding a leaf.

Nice improvement. It's amazing what 1 inch will do.:metal:

Re: '72 Cheyenne K10
Good to know. Think about adding new Teflon anti-friction liners to replace the oem examples at the top and bottom of the spring packs when you add the correct U-bolts. Seems minor but I did perceive a quieter ride as if they do provide some dampening.

I got a set of tire chains for playing in the snow. The test fit was long so I removed a cross chain.
