Hey 72 Chevy Suburban....

First congrats on the win!!!...I know that you are very excited about seeing the progress of the burb....

Well I went on a covert attack the other evening to see if I can get some pics of your burb in the 'undisclosed' location....I followed the guys from the shop to the 'undisclosed location'.....and here are a couple of pics I got from the progress after they left....I think they were there till 4am...or at least that's what time I woke up......

Okay....Looks like they sandblasted the thing and here's is what's left....I truly think they are going to blow that $10k budget out of the water...but hey by the looks of the engine at least you are a 'green' burb running on propane!!!

Enjoy!!! and congrats again man...I look forward to seeing the finished product......

They said that was their goal, Nathan. They will be working on the truck after shop hours and everyone is donating their time. All of the employees of the company from laborer to owners will each get to have an idea of their own incorporated into the build. It sounds like an aggressive schedule, but they are targeting completion is less than 2 months. That is hard to imagine...

If everyone is "donating their time", that means no labor charges. Sounds like the $10K is just for parts. I know I could buy a whole lotta nice hardware for $10K...

ROTFLMAO!! Hey, even if they give me a wheelbarrow loaded with $10K, that would be good with me... At least I got dual exhaust....:metal:

They kind of eluded that there would not be strict adherence to the budget. It should be interesting...

Thanks for all of the support, guys.

65short, that looks like his. Seems they are going with the old

"Good
Fast
or
Cheep.. .but you can only pick 2" deal.

Looks like it'll be good and cheep 'well, free' but not very quick.

Not very much. I was apparently in too close of contact with the shop as the radio station told me to funnel communications through them. I was actually trying to help them source parts, so it is their loss. Call me when it's done...

YES! Very cool, Short Step. I had no idea that they were putting the progress up on their site. I'll be watching for sure now. Hoepfully they are farther along by now??

ROTFLMAO! Yeah, I talked with the radio station marketing guys last week and I asked him how it was going (since I can't contact the shop). He snickered and said that it still looked pretty much about the same as it did teh last time that he saw it. This might take awhile...

Just check this link from time to time and you'll be able to see how it's coming along...not fast enough for me but you don't want them to rush it either. Maybe we'll get some more updates on it soon though.

Wow, this long and it's still not back yet????
Either they ran into alot of snags along the way, or maybe they can't decide what road to take style wise, or maybe they had to fabricate alot of kustom pieces.... I just really hope they don't "pimp your ride" like MTV does.......... Praying for a great job over hear.

How are you dealing with the stress?????? I'd be insane by now.

Guys,

Still no word and no additional progress shown on the website. My guess is that they are busy with other projects, so I am being patient. Secretly, I hope that they keep it until Spring, so that I don't have to store it this Winter.

I will keep you posted if I hear anything.

what an awesome contest to win!

Unfortunately it seems like the shop is pulling the ol' "this is a free job... we can get to it tomorrow" deal after the initial excitement wore off of the team.

I'm with you though, hopefully you get it back after the cold weather has passed, and rockin'!

Thanks for the continued interest and support, Nate and everyone else. I am pretty patient with the project because I can appreciate the work that is involved and these guys have jobs in the shop with deadlines and that is what pays their bills. The Suburban was just sitting around and waiting for attention and there were no plans for work on it by us in the unforeseeable future. We are blessed to have other car projects and cars to cruise in and take to shows and the 'Burb will get it's day in the future. I can't wait to see it when it is done and share it with you guys.

Thanks,
