Well my engine mounts finally showed up ...so today was all about getting the engine supported by something besides the cherry picker...
I boxed the frame in the section where the engine mounts are and further forward to the point where the steering box will mount...so I duplicated the same thing on the pass side..I used 1-3/4 dom tube for the main supports...this will later get gusseted and a cross frame brace when I get the steering done...in the 1st pic you can see where i had to bend the support on the driver side to clear the headers...

Also painted the new battery tray and temporarily hung it on to the firewall to check clearances...it's coming back off for new mounting bolts

Started working on mounting the hydroboost for some shownuff stopping power...
Had several hurdles to jump to get there...in the 1st pic you can see the old single res master compared to the hydroboost...the hydro is for a early 80s c30...
The 1st issue was the longer snout where the pushrod is...the hydro was way to long ..
In the 2nd pic you can see I made a 3/4" aluminum spacer and a 1/4" steel nut plate..this extra inch is almost good....ill have to shorten the pushrod some but itll be real close...
In the 3rd pic you can see that the orig master also angled down...I'm not sure why they did that but both trucks are that way...so I had to straighten up the plate to get the hydro level...I cut out the old master mount from the firewall plate and welded in the new nut plate...

This thread amazes me. Truly outstanding metal work. I am jealous that I don’t have the skills to do all of the work you have done. This is going to be a work of art when it is finished. It looks like you have tons and tons of time put towards this project.

Well after taking a short break to work on some other projects (1/2mile 5 strand barb wire fence on creosote posts and rebuilt a 12ft disc so I could plant my greenfields)... I got back on the truck...i got the steering box mounted and crossover steering completed...i had to bend a offset in the crossover link to give some extra clearance for the oil pan...it also helped it line up better with the Pitman arm..

Also got the crossover for the motor mounts in as well as the kicker braces...
and got started on the trans crossmember..had to notch one of the tubes on the trans crossmember for bolt clearance.....
got it all fabbed up..and of course...I run out of argon...on a Fri night...it'll have to wait til next week when I get more welding gas..and I'll get it all welded and get some better pics of the crossmemebers with paint on em..

Thanks Doug...i finally broke down a couple yrs ago and bought a jd-squared bender and dies....I had always used a bender that I made some 25yrs ago...it worked ok but was slow..not content to leave the new bender alone I modified it by removing all the manual ratchet system and adding a air over hydraulic cylinder to it and changing it from horizontal to vertical bending direction..it's designed to be anchored to the floor or a work table and required a solid anchor to operate the rachet...I built it where it's self contained and relies on no anchor...got it on wheels so I can roll it to wherever I need it...and roll it out to the way when not in use...
