I would think you wouldn't have issues with mini tubs.

No 18x10s, no. Here's a post about an '83 with 18x9.5 all around with links to pics:

thanks!

Scratching my head.. i think the deep dish on the front doesnt look so good so now i'm thinking 18x8" (8.5" would be nice) on the front, i just want to make sure the wheels are as far to the fender lip as possible, imo when the fronts are set in it doesnt look right.

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

i ordered the staggered 18's to get the deep dish in the back. Ideally, i'd like the 8.5"f and 10"r in the 18, but I don't think I'll miss .5"...

Boise69, 4.5" bs in the front on the 18x8, with a standard 5 lug disc brake setup in the front, the wheel will be pretty close to the outside of the fender lip. I really don't think you'll have to worry about it sitting in too far. Most people with discs in the front and 18-20" wheels run 5" bs on the front.

I just ordered the 18s 18x8.5 up front and 18x9.5 for the rear my truck is lowered 2.5 up front and 4 in the back what size tires should I use?

70k52wd 03-28-2010 09:50 PM

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

Try to keep your tire diameter around 28-30in. I came up with 245/50 front 27.7in dia...
A 275/45 for the rear is 27.8in dia, But, imo it's not wide enough for the rim.

I ordered the staggered 18x8 and the 18x9.5
I was going to order some 245/40s up and 295/35 in rear.

The 245/40 are real common. 295/40 are NOT common but 295/35 are. go figure. Most tire company recommend a 10in with for the 295s but I dont think .5" will make that big a difference.

Howdy, I just ordered the 20" 8.5 all the way round. I'll be dropping it 4" in front and 5" in the back with the ECE drop spindle kit. I was thinking of going 255/45 front and back? Is this going to work? Is there a better choice? I'd like to go wider in the rear, but I was thinking of the ease of keeping all four the same. Let me know what you guys think!

"Ease of of keeping all four the same"? I don't understand. Once they're bolted on, where's the difficulty with staggered wheels? Pretty hard to get them mixed up.

He may be saying ease of rotation.

I wonder if anyone buying these wheels uses his truck so conscientiously as a daily driver that tire rotation really matters. My daily driver is an '02 Z28 (same wheels all around) and I rotate the tires twice a year: once in November when the Blizzaks go on and once in March when they come back off. :D

As for me, I'd rather have the exact look I want and have to replace tires negligibly more often than put all that work and money into my truck only to not have the look I really wanted. To each his own. YMMV. Etc.

This group buy is only for Boss 338 wheels in the sizes listed in the first post. If you don't mind them not matching your 304s, you can get two chrome 338s in 20x8.5 for $450 + shipping, but be aware they're backordered without a definite ETA.

245/40/18's and 295/35/18's look awesome together IMO. I ran that setup on my 5"/7" dropped '92 x-cab with Weld Wheels 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear. The 295 was a bit of a squeeze on the 9.5" wheel, but it wore evenly and didn't look 'pinched' at the sidewalls. I ran Bridgestone Potenza SO2's and those are some of the best tires I've ever had.

I meant for ease of tire rotation. I guess its not a huge deal for me, but I drive a good bit and it would be help with tire life. But....nice fat 295's do look sweet on the back.:metal:
