Mine looks like this

...but imagine PS, PB, and 3 speed OD. I hope I have the chance to do this soon! Oh ya, the Chevrolet valve cover (the cherry on top). I pulled the valve cover off of a 64 with a 292

When I first bought my Panel, it had a 230 in it. It ran OK, but with tons of blow-by. So I took it apart and one piston had a hole in it. I replaced it, and drove on. About a year later, I was driving down the freeway and something went bang and it started running a little rough. I made it on home and took the head off and everything looked OK. I turned the motor over by hand and the top of this piston didn't move. Whisky Tango Foxtrot? I then ran a self-tapper screw into it and pulled it out and this is what I found under it:

I think that the PO who rebuilt it didn't gap the rings or something and this one got to the point where it cut the piston in two. I was just lucky that it didn't have a complete come-apart. I just replaced this piston and drove on again. When I ever get around to rebuilding that old 230, I'll get a whole new set of pistons!:metal::metal::metal:

I joined this site because the 292 is a truck engine and someone directed me here, my 292 is in a '55 Chevy 150 4dr.
Pictures show the 235 coming out and the 292 in, before the swap the engine received a complete rebuilt, .30 over, 9to 1 pistons, mild cam, oversize valves, port and polish, lump kit, Clifford intake and exhaust and it will have a rebuilt Quadrajet. A 2004r was built for it. Project has been going slow but steady.

Here's the recently resurrected 250 in my '67. My buddy Abe gave me this engine when I bought the project. It had been sitting in his garage for years! It needed a little help from some trans fluid to fire up but now she runs great! Fires right up everytime... :) Other than the trans fluid, all I did was clean it, paint it and drop in and HEI.

Neil, a friend and master mechanic that put the engine together for me. The lumps I bought from Mike, mrhotrod6@bellsouth.net.

OK, fine. I thought it might have been Larry Page, "Twisted6" on www.inliners.org. He is [or was] the president of I/I Orlando chapter. I know he was making lump port pieces a while ago.
I picked up an assembly- resto manual for the triple nickle Chevys at a used book store. What surprised me was the LX circuit design and even color code was very close to my '68 C/10 pick-up.

I'll give it a go to - morrow , I even got some nice pix of my folding back bench seat with pockets....

I've been a 6 Banger lover since long before these trucks were made , L6's just keep on going , and going , and going..........

No V-ate ever made has the longevity of an InLiner .

Hi fellas? There is a inline that I am very interested in buying. I talked on the phone with the owner he is a guy on a hot rod site I go to alot. He said that he pulled it out of an old timers 65 chevy pickup. The guy thinks its a 292 but his friends say it looks like a 250. If I am correct on my research it said that the 65 chevy pickups had 230? if this is the case will the 230 still work great in my 67 chevy truck on highways because this is gonna be my DD. here is a picture of it sorry not very good. I am waiting to see if he can verify the casting numbers. I really want a Straight 6.
