Thanks a bunch guys!
I need to refine my process before I decide to produce these things for re-sale...They were very time consuming, and I'm not sure that anyone would be willing to pay for the time that I had into these...but I am pretty sure that if I had more FREE-TIME, I may be able to figure out a quicker way to produce them...

No CNC for me....all old school, I am not smart enough to use the good stuff, I'm limited to using the Bridgports, because I'm in management.
I gotta figure out a way to get some programs wrote for these...

Murph, what a compliment! Not painting right now, so I'm trying to take care of some small/boring stuff, so that when the paint is done I will be ready for assembly....No pics at the moment.

P.S. thought about the whole video thing, and I really think it's cool, but because I already work 60+ hours normally, I don't know where I would find the time to do it....But it would be very cool...

I decided to restore my cowl-vents this week. They were looking pretty shabby to say the least! I had ordered new gaskets a while back, and I thought that now was as good of a time as any to rebuild them.
I thought that I could just drill out the rivets that held the two halves of the vent door together, slip in the new gasket, and pop-rivet them back together...It wasn't until I had sandblasted the heck out of them, that I noticed that they also had six spot-welds holding them together....Change of plans!!!
I then decided that I would simply trim the old gaskets off, then use contact cement to adhere the new gaskets to the back side of the vent doors...Maybe this is how everyone repairs these, I don't know.
I think they turned out pretty nice!
Take a look!
First the before pics!

Nice job as usual. Any updated pics on the body parts? i have been really trying to get my frame done but feel like I'm not getting anywhere. Can't wait to get into the body work and watch it take change. The more times I read through your build I want to ditch my chrome rear bumper do a roll pan and use my front bumper and paint to match instead of buying a new chrome front bumper.

I've been following your build since you started your thread. You do some great work. The vents came out great. Something I still need to tackle. Keep it up. I'm a fan. :metal:

I have to echo what pdxhall just said !!
Been with you since the start sir, and you never fail to produce !!
Nicely done. Mine were not in bad shape at all, so I did not tackle them.

Since my buddy/painter has been a bit busy with his own priorities, and I have been too overwhelmed at work lately to even think about it. I decided that in my spare-time, of which I have none, I would fab-up some items that I really didn't document very well the first time around.
I am not going to tell what they are, but as the process progresses, I am sure that you will figure it out.....
Here are some pics!
I will be posting more pics shortly!

Thanks for the comment, the pictures really do NOT do justice!...Looks way better in person!

Thanks Clemdaddy, the replacement looked really cheesey to me...shoulda known by the price, eh?

I have the item modeled-up in Solidworks, and while machining it manually, I was contemplating having one of the programmers at our shop write a program to machine it in one of our 5-axis mills. What a bunch of work if only a hand-full of people want one!....

let us know how much I would take a full set of the machined knobs. I four trucks all together I would use them on all the trucks.

Hmmm, Bought them a while back, but pretty sure that I got them from LMC.
Note: You need to be real careful when applying them with contact cement, because if you position them wrong, you will not get them off without destroying them!

I'm tryin to streamline the fabrication process. As it stands, they would be pretty pricey based on how long it takes to make them.
