Hey NONHOG,

Thanks man! I'm going to try and use these mounts that came with my 455 - they are from the 76 Delta it came out of...

My engine should be ready in a couple of weeks, supposed to make over 500+ foot pounds of torque from about 1500-3500 rpm or so, that's nuts :) and if I would ever get all the parts I could just bolt it all together and go HAHA

Is the 500 your getting to the wheels or at the crank? Regardless 500hp is pretty sick! Just think at like a 30mph roll you could stomp on it and I'm sure you would see some little black marks behind you! :metal:

500 ft lbs at the crank, about 400-450 hp - estimated to the wheels, 400+ ft lbs, and about 400hp

What my buddy told me who worked for GM said typically you take 20% off the crank power and thats what is at the wheels so 500hp at the crank take 20% off that's 100hp away get 400hp which that's still impressive numbers! :metal:

That's what I was told how true that is, I don't know.

OK,

Got rear springs and the 9" in, and the lift kit all assembled, just stuck the tires on there for now to be able to roll it around, damn those things are wide...
Decided to go with rear disc brakes...
Will work on the front steering linkage etc. this week.
Getting closer :)

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Lookin good man!. Got to love those 295-50's. Can't wait to get mine back on. Looks like you might have plenty of room for your lower rear shock mount bolt. My shock mount is right up against the lowering plate of the flip kit. Post up a nice side shot of the rolling chassis with those wheels on.

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Update:
took the U-bolts that came with the flip kit and changed them out with the stainless steel ones that came from Totally Stainless today, they are stronger, and much shorter so they don't hang down under the truck as much... looking around for a rear disc brake kit, will see how that goes over the next few days...
Will put the steering linkage in tomorrow, then i'll run brake lines etc. etc. and all i'll need then is my engine, so I can do the hard stuff :metal: :smoke:

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Dang!!! nice!! It almost looks like a Formula 1 car with that stance and those tires. It's coming together.

You will have to find a pair of used tires you can throw on and burn up with that motor, trans and rear end!
