The other side of those mountains is Death Valley. One gal in our group was running around looking at the "cute" rocks and asking what they were. Here husband kept saying "Leaveright!"

We got a great air show, because that location wasn't too far from China Lake NAS, and we saw guys in fighter jet twisting around, having fun.

I had lunch at the inlaws yesterday... I slipped out to the garage for a bottle of water and grabbed a pic of this.

Here’s the other side of his garage. He’s done all the work on both vehicles with the exception of the signage on the 49 gmc.My wife helped him with the top on the 51 Buick.

Just up the canyon is the Barker Ranch where the Manson Family were caught.

And down the other side a ways is where that German couple and their kids got stuck in a rented minivan. They tried to walk to China Lake NAS (just more desert) to be rescued but they all died out there. A couple guys finally found their bones 10 or 15 years later.

Some of those leaverite rocks glow in the dark ;)

Missed that bit of Manson fun by at least a decade! The last thing I'd want is to run into some lunatics when I'm out camping.
