I have interiors pieces and door panels coming. It has a 6.2 Diesel, Turbo 400 and a NP205, going to turbo the 6.2 for now. Doubt I will do a Cummins swap, I did one a while back and wasn't that impressed with it. |
Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Out of curiosity what didn't impress you with the Cummins swap?
What version of the engine were you using and what did you put it in? |

Had the intercooler hooked up, 47rh trans with a np205. It was just the nick pick things that got to me, I had it all together and driving. |

I just bought another one, gonna be delivered to me Thursday.
Attachment 1556215 1991 K3500, 454 TBI, 4L80E, NP205 Fully loaded, power windows/locks, a/c, cruise, dual batteries, 9000# Warn winch. This is my holy grail! I'm super excited! It's currently very "old man-ish" I'll take care of that post haste! Plans are just a clean driver with some subtle updates. There is a very small amount of rust to fix and the passenger fender is caved in. |
Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Nice truck! That's exactly what I'm looking for. All these crews are on the west coast!
|
Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Thanks!
I wasn't even looking for a truck. This one popped up so I sold my 98 K3500 CCLB to get it. |
Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
ya, you got a good one there! I love it. I check out the craigslist for crews up in alaska once and a while for kicks, and man they are cheap and plentiful up there. Just cost a fortune to get them back down to states i'm sure. Good luck on your 91! Keep us updated with some pics!!

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Yeah
I think it's around $2000 for an auto transport to the lower 48. Will do! I'll probably start a build thread eventually... |

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Decided to keep Scarlett a dually, she started life that way, my other K30 was a dually and it just felt right.
New shoes in Michelin 9.00x16 with a small spacer to provide a lil breathing room. Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
I love this site. But quit using it much cause I can't post pics. I crashed my crew cab short bed a couple months ago, about to get it back together now. I'd post pics if I could. Lots of nice trucks on here. Love to see them all.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Wide Open and Eyesore, much thanks and first flatbed rig I've owned. Really liking the simplicity and ease of use with the bed. It just makes so many things easier.
I don't miss cleaning, waxing process and sweating the dings / scratches anymore. Just toss it on, strap it down or hook the sucker up. Gotta get my Deathproof Duck mounted on the hood though. |
Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Like you, I'm really starting to dig flat beds. I have an extended cab 93 Ford F-350 with a dump bed where the side rails fold down for loading. I like it better than a regular bed for utility and it's easier than pulling a trailer for most things.
I'm looking to replace it with a 73-91 crew cab. It's not a GM but it's still better than carrying the stuff myself until I find my new truck. |
Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Here is mine after I swapped on a Contact Maintenance Bed, right now i'm working on getting the bed cleaned up and holes filled. Then paint it one color, and get it ready for work and camping and maybe get some 40" Michelin's.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
It started simple. Every evening, I would look at threads like these, and drool. Now I own a truck that gets 9 MPG, that I am forever working on, and don't regret it for a second.
'88 V30 4x4 454 w/ a 4" Rough Country (I went cheap) lift, 235/85/16 Cooper tires, and a helluva lot of my time, blood, sweat, and money. :metal::chevy: Before and After http://i64.tinypic.com/ndv8ck.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/mlknli.jpg |

Nice purchase friend, she's gonna love you long time. |
