Starting to finally put stuff on the truck instead of taking stuff off. Lol.
Here's my painted core support and grill and bezels. Also installed new poly body bushings.

I've just been using this tractor paint from the local attwoods(farm supply/hardware), prime, base coat, clear coat. This tractor paint is supposed to dry harder and be more resistant to scratches.

I try not to sound too stupid most of the time, but that joke must be over my head because I don't get it. Haha

Got the engine all pertied up, and got all my fuel lines ran. Now all I have left is wiring, and its kicking my butt. I have no idea which wire goes where and all the wiring diagrams make my brain hurt. Lol so if anyone has advice or knows what they go to, let me know!!

Finally had some time tonight after work to put gas in the truck and hook up the bare minimum wires needed to get my motor started for the first time in the 4 years I've owned it. I was soo excited! I only let it run for about 15 seconds because its late and I don't want to push my luck and mess something up.

Open exhaust manifolds are loud!!!

If its a new motor you need to run it for like 15 min. to break in the cam at like 2000 rpm.
Starting for just a few seconds like that could do damage.

Technically its not brand new, I bought it used, but with only like 2000 miles or so. Am I still in danger of hurting it?

Nope...with 2000 miles, that cam should have been broken in correctly and the rings should be set. You're good to go!

Open headers...music to my ears! For a short period of time at least...haha

Exactly! I've been out of the loop due to health issues which kept me away from the computer and couldn't reply. I said that because of it being a Texas plate, my home state! Personally, I love the states that don't require a front plate. When I get that far along on my POS, I'm not going to run a front plate which will eventually earn me a ticket, if not more, but I'll just pay the fine which is nominal I've heard rather than screw up a smooth front end.

Keep up the good work man!

Haven't accomplished anything on the truck in a while. I did build a battery tray to mount my battery on the frame under the bed. What do y'all think?
Also about to buy my very first miller welder. I'm excited. I been using one at work for the past 6 months and now I'm spoiled. Haha

Like the battery box, also thought you may want to get rid of the glass fuel filter have heard too many horror stories about them leaking and causing a fire

Thanks! That one is actually plastic, but I replaced it with a glass one like this:

Ive never heard of the leaking issue, but I'll look into it!
