Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build
Starting to finally put stuff on the truck instead of taking stuff off. Lol.
Here's my painted core support and grill and bezels. Also installed new poly body bushings. http://i901.photobucket.com/albums/a...psb9f7d87b.jpg Posted via Mobile Device |

Got the engine all pertied up, and got all my fuel lines ran. Now all I have left is wiring, and its kicking my butt. I have no idea which wire goes where and all the wiring diagrams make my brain hurt. Lol so if anyone has advice or knows what they go to, let me know!! http://i901.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps216a6135.jpg http://i901.photobucket.com/albums/a...psfbc8b9f5.jpg Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build
Finally had some time tonight after work to put gas in the truck and hook up the bare minimum wires needed to get my motor started for the first time in the 4 years I've owned it. I was soo excited! I only let it run for about 15 seconds because its late and I don't want to push my luck and mess something up.
Open exhaust manifolds are loud!!! Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build
If its a new motor you need to run it for like 15 min. to break in the cam at like 2000 rpm.
Starting for just a few seconds like that could do damage. |

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build
Nope...with 2000 miles, that cam should have been broken in correctly and the rings should be set. You're good to go!
Open headers...music to my ears! For a short period of time at least...haha |
Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build
Move the truck to a new home today out of my parents house.... Now into my dads old shop. Lol. The ol girl looks happy in her new home.

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build
Haven't accomplished anything on the truck in a while. I did build a battery tray to mount my battery on the frame under the bed. What do y'all think?
Also about to buy my very first miller welder. I'm excited. I been using one at work for the past 6 months and now I'm spoiled. Haha http://i901.photobucket.com/albums/a...psa76b7b53.jpg Posted via Mobile Device |

Thanks! That one is actually plastic, but I replaced it with a glass one like this:
