I'm glad I ran across this thread. Never even knew these existed. I thought I saw one in town the other day and pretty near gave myself whiplash trying to get a better look at it. I feel better now!

I usually think these don't look "right"... but that one does!

If someone snags that truck in GrandIsland I have a bunch of friends and family not far from there that would be happy to keep it secure until it was picked up.

Just like to help a fellow enthusiast out!

You're right they actually look right for lack of a better description.
Two rounded end windows angled slightly back flows with the body lines better.

Boy, I'm sure glad I stumbled across this topic! Here's one for you all, 1984 3/4 ton 4x4. CVI conversion, bought new by my dad at Edward's Chevrolet in Whitewright, Tx, where she's spent her whole life. It was his daily driver until 1994, and was still on the road until about 2001. We had to hide it in an outbuilding to curb the riff-raff from stopping trying to buy it.

She's still straight as an arrow, just needs a fresh motor and new paint job, and some little piddling things. Shooting to have her back on the road as new in 2014.

Ever get this one back on the road?

Looks like he went the C&C dually route... I like the clean look the narrower dually axle gives it.

this was sitting behind the shop that's reupholstering my scout. It was built by a company in Fort Worth, TX called Western Hauler

It's definitely different from the others. It's extended and still has the lwb bed.

An old thread, but my son just picked up an 84 extended cab. It’s been repainted and I couldn’t find any id tags so I don’t know who did the conversion. I can’t seem to get photos to post (they are hosted on google).

Re: Square body extended cabs

#Mavis79 if you're still trying to identify who did the conversion on your sons truck, provide some pictures of the interior specifically from the extra cab. They will help identify.

I just picked up this 1985 Extended cab c30. It has a Overland coach badge on the tailgate. No documentation in the cab that I've seen so far. Has been setting a long time.

Here's a pic

Just posted it for sale a couple hours ago. Not sure what I want for it yet. I figure I'm going to be asking somewhere around the upper teens. It looks like there was only five of these built in 1985

10 months later and here is the truck from above.

Off to the suspension shop Friday for all new suspension, brakes and pulling the 454 for a rebuild.

The truck looks great and the build speed is very impressive. Great job!
