its nice to have it looking like a truck again.and another quick update, its out with the old and in with the new booster.i was quite lucky the new booster fit the mounting holes.only thing i had to do was make a custom bracket from the rod to the sierra brake pedal heres a couple snap shots of it mocked up in place.it made so much more room over the old one.also just ordered a aluminum air tank.should have it in a week or so.forgot to mention i tried to fit on the hood today.with the body drop a sensor in the top of my intake is about 2 inches too high.im going to have to get creative to solve this problem

The F-body intake is much lower but will require some creativity with the hoses and the truck accessories. If I remember right the truck upper radiator outlet on the water pump is in the way of the F-body throttle body. I have seen them re-clocked to clear but I don't know how they did it.

i would love to go with a ls1 style intake but i cant make that happen this year.we have our first little one on the way so the build budget got a little tighter.im leaning towards building my hood in to a cowl induction or do a custom shaker style intake cover through the hood.the gears in the head are still turning haha

Re: Project...praise the lowered

quick update: yesterday afternoon i got some small time consuming things off the list.made some rubber grommets for the fire wall, removed the steering column and relocated the mount bracket so the wheel will be a little closer, did some die grinding on the holes for the brake booster mount so it sits more level, did some body work to the firewall where i burnt welding the gas pedal mount, organized some wiring under the dash.ect.small boring stuff i put off long enough.today i drove home to visit some family and ended up giving my father a hand sanding and blocking the body for his hotrod project.after waiting over a year for canadian company to make his body he decided to go with another company form the U.S who delivered one to the door.great product.so now he can finally get back at it.i cant wait to get both of the projects done and start hitting some shows.heres a couple pics

I have seen guys clean up the truck intakes by removing the ugly bosses on top, epoxy filling as needed then sanding & painting them. They turn out pretty nice that way and might give you the clearance you need for just some elbow grease for the most part.

I will see if I can find a link to the build thread I am thinking about for you.

now that you mention it i think i remember seeing a blue one some one did.they did a good job.but i think its more the evap purge valve/control solenoid that sticks up so high.i looked up to see how to delete it but i would have to change some codes in the ecu.but no worries.i have been thinking of a shaker style hood that should fit the build.and be functional too.thanks for searching for that link

its just like a tv show.i was gone for a bit but now im back with season 2.and believe it or not i finally had a full day to work at it.it was alot of head scratching, measuring, cutting and welding but i got the body mount/mounts completely welded to the underframe of the cab,got the cab bolted down in place then center /leveled the box for the final mounting location.then i was able to get at the frame work for the bed floor.i ran out of steel so tomorrow i will cut some more and should be able to have the rest of the frame tacked in place.heres a couple pics
