Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

The reason I mentioned it is because the peddles are different.
I ran into this when I went from the V6 to an inline 6 and had to move the bell crank location.
It is pretty simple but I don't have a hydraulic setup so I have no idea what the peddle looks like. As far as I know, they all hang the same way. Since you have upgraded your brakes you will need a new setup anyway.
I will try to get some photos uploaded as soon as I can.

Mine is set up for mechanical too.
Probably wont help you any if you are going to put in the hydralic.

The yolk under the dash, that your brake pedal and e-brake mount to should already be set up to accept a clutch pedal, just a matter of getting the right hardware for the application you want to use.

I can still post pics of mine if you want them though!

I don't think it matter hydro or mech. I just need the pedal and the hardware to mount it. I will make the rest. This is what I have now and I would like to se a pic with a clutch installed.

Ok fresh off the digital camera for you!

When I got mine from a donor rig at the junk yard, I installed it the very next day while I could still remember how. (I have to do things like that because I really am not as smart as people pretend I am...)

Hope these photos help, if you have any questions of course ask, I will answer what I can.

66Chevymax,
I went the opposite direction, from stick to automatic. I still have the clutch side stuff for some reason. If you want it you can have it.

Craig,

Here's what I have from my old clutch setup. The only thing I couldn't find was the return spring but that is the easy part. I have pictured the whole assembly but I will send you the clutch arm assembly only. You may have to pull the shaft out of your brake arm assembly and clean out the crud from both ends because those 2 plastic bushings pictured on the clutch shaft go in the ends of the brake shaft, then the clutch shaft goes thru the center of the brake shaft. Kinda hard to explain but it will all be clear when you get all the pieces together. If this is what you need I'll ship it to you this week. The complete clutch arm assembly is shown in the last picture. The retainer bracket slips on the knurled end of the shaft and is secured with a bolt and nut. There's a hole in the opposite end of that bracket that secures it to the clutch actuator rod. You can see most of that in McMurphy's photos.

Dean

I have done very little as of late, work is taking most of my time along with summer things like the pool, yard and lake, mostly work :waah:

Should be able to get back to the truck in August.

The problem is they are far a few between, my big deadline at work will pass on Monday the 16, after that I'm on vacation and life will be back to normal. Trust me I am thankful to be this busy, as I am self employed.

The issues your facing and figuring out will help me with my on going build! Great work so far and can't wait to see the finished product! I'm fixing to drop an LY6/4L80 into my 65 SWB BBW once I get the frame back from powder coat.

Had my computer fixed today. Can see the photos now.
I am doing an ls motor in a 63 (frame is the same as 64-66) what motor mounts and header combo did you end up with? I read about clearance issues but do you have numbers for the final setup?
Anyone have any knowledge as to the wires I will need to feed this engine on a 4L80E?
