Thanks guys.

The show was great. Around 300 vehicles showed up and we walked away with a judges choice award. I found it fun to stand within earshot listening to the different reactions of people as they looked the truck over.

"How did he get it here without getting stuck?"
"I bet he has hydraulics so he can hop it."
"His roof is lower than the floor of my <random lifted billy-rig>."

And I had an experience in the parking lot of Lowes that has made all of this work worth it:

I had just started the truck and aired up when a 80-something little old lady hobbled over to my window with her cane. She said, "Nice truck; does it have hydraulics?" I explained that it's actually on air and uses bags and is truthfully a smoother ride than the cars with hydraulics. Then she says, "Oh that's pretty swell. I used to ride around with some cholos in east LA back in the early 70's and we all had hydraulics on our cars...keep on truckin!"

Nice. It doesn't get any better than compliments from little old ladys.

Congrats on the award. I was standing by your truck and a 10 year old boy said something along those same lines. He couldn't figure out how you got over the speed bumps.

No kidding? Wish I would have known you would be there. Would have been cool to meet up.

I took the dually up to the 9th annual "Rumble in the Bay" in Bigfork, MT yesterday. The show started at 10am, so I preregistered a week in advance and showed up at 6:15am...there were already 30 vehicles in front of me. All told, there were over 300 that showed and the show spilled into several side streets. I never heard any kind of a count on spectator attendance, but it was hard to walk around due to the size of the crowd.

Im sure that a lot of the turnout was due in part to the fact the promoters advertised that Dennis Gage from My Classic Car would be in attendance and filming on location. Surprisingly, he sourced me out and I did a quick interview about the dually. I was able to snag a quick shot of him with my boys and they each got a signed sticker. Dennis told me that footage should air on an episode sometime in the spring.

Admittedly, I had to go look up the show on the Internet. (I've been Netflix only for the past several years). I guess it's a show about shows...

My boys got busted by the fuzz...

And this car (which really should have taken best of show, but didn't place in anything) was just all kinds of badass. All metal, all airbrushed, embroidered leather interior, stainless everything, bagged, etc...
