The coil covers are definitely a big improvement. I've got an old Mr.Gasket blower/tunnel ram scoop that I think would cool set over the top section of these intakes.

The old 2 piece Megascoop? It would look very cool turned backwards on the intake. Maybe the top half only? They don’t make those anymore so it would be pretty unique. I thought about buying 8 exhaust u bends and making a cover that looks like a tall LS1 intake but the bends are expensive and 8 of them would be over $100. I hate being so cheap. I’ve seen where some people are shaving all the ugly off the truck intakes and I have 4 of them so I may experiment.

Truck was wearing the tires on the outsides and I had no idea how many miles were on my vette suspension so I replaced the upper and lower ball joints as well as the tie rods and got it realigned. Drives better than ever. I think I may skip the stall converter and save it for the 69 I'm building. That truck still needs a converter and it will have more cubic inches, cam, compression, and gear to back it up. Think I may just drive this one as is and enjoy it until the other truck is finished. Still need to cover that ugly truck intake. Like the covers on my other engine but they were pretty expensive!

The upper door panels were getting very faded and a little stained. (Same orange cloth on the seat) I still have 2 full hides of the dark gray leather so I used a heat gun to remove the cloth and replaced it. I would like to do the seat as well but that will be a larger project.

I like those bands of trip on the top and bottom of the door panel. Stainless? Aluminum? Is all that covering original door panels?

Aluminum strips from Lowes cut and drilled to fit the factory holes. Original door panel taken off. Stainless would have been nice. I built these door panels from scratch. To see pics of the process see page 9. The strips actually hold the upper in place. The lower is mostly plastic trim clips like an old camaro door panel has.

I bought a Radio Flyer model 40 child’s wheelbarrow and cut it up. Made a mounting bracket and rattle can painted it. I think the emblems on the side are a nice touch.

I can’t help it. I want to go faster. Plus I got bored. These are the headers I bought for my LS 69 C10 unibody project. They are actually for swapping an LS into a 73-87 pickup. I’m pretty amazed that they fit like custom built headers specifically for this truck because with the corvette suspension all my stuff seemed to fit wrong. I’m really leaning toward finishing this and getting another set for the other truck. They are Doug’s headers ( not Doug Thorley) part number D314.

Had a front tire with a big bulge on the sidewall so needed new tires. You can’t buy General gmax as03 tires anymore so I got some Firehawk Indy 500s. I wanted to even the stance some and run a wider tire so I bought two more 18 inch rear vette wagon wheels and sanded and polished them. Fills the wheel well better than the 17 inch wheels did. Also pushed the fronts out 1/2 inch.

They are fabricated aluminum and can be found on ebay. They come polished. Only issue is that it takes some time to trim them to fit around everything. Holley makes some that look more like big block chevy valve covers and are plastic , but still require trimming. Unless you are talking about the red engine covers. Those are made by a guy in Ohio, company is B&H Custom Designs. I have a bead roller and a punch and die but no sheet metal brake. It was easier to buy those covers than build them.

I just read the entire build ... Great Job , looks great and you can proudly say you did it all !

That said I noticed you have the adjustable proportioning valve in the Front brake line ! This should be in the rear brake line . Remember the master cylinder front outlet is the one closest the firewall. Also the reservoirs on 4 wheel disc brakes should have equal capacity. Yours appears to be for a disc / drum system. BTW the drum side has a 10# residual valve builtin the M/C. This would cause the front disc brakes to drag on your setup. I hope this helps you.

I'll double check but I'm pretty sure the valve is on the back brakes but I may have the lines switched front to back. The master cylinder and booster both came from a 98-02 Trans Am with 4 wheel discs. I went that route because it was cheap and I thought it should be pretty compatible with the Corvette disc brakes I'm running. Brakes have been working for 6 years with no issues. I wish my 08 Ram stopped as well!

Thanks for the heads up on this. It appears I was sold a 93-97 master instead of a 98-02. Looked them up on RockAuto and they definitely are different. LT1 version on top, LS1 version on bottom. I thought the metering valve contained the residual instead of the master cylinder? Not sure. Either way I need to get the right master and plumb it correctly.

It just occurred to me that 93-97 Z28 Camaros had rear disc brakes, and that the same master cylinder is specified whether it's a V6 drum car or a fully loaded V8. Maybe what I have is OK and I only need to swap the lines front to back?

The size of the reservoir is matched to the calipers.
The Camero's single piston caliper is much smaller then the Vette's
dual piston caliper.
As the pads wear the fluid level drops in the reservoir to compensate for the piston (s) extending to make up for the pad wear.

With the small reservoir you have you will have to keep adding fluid as the pads wear or you will loose the rear brakes and have to refill and bleed the rear system.
The other problem is when its time to replace the pads, As the pistons are pushed back it will overfill the reservoir and spray fluid out of the master. To avoid this open the bleeders as you push back the piston.

Of course by the time that happens you'll have forgotten all this and have fluid everywhere :(

Probably just better to go with the correct parts :)

If that is the case they must have put the residual valves in the distribution / proportioning block and that would be different for the drum/disc and 4 wheel disc.

What you have is an adjustable proportioning valve so it just reduces the flow to the rear brakes so you can adjust when or how soon they lock up or not.

Installed the SS3200 stall converter yesterday. Now i've got a 150 mile break in period. Ordered a cam and pushrods to put in the 5.3. AND...my wife says there is absolutely positively no way I'm allowed to put my Yank sticker on MY truck. Isn't that unfair?

I’m trying to prepare for the 6.0 engine swap. I’m not sure how much power the Dana 36 rear diff can take. I’m sure the beefier Dana 44 from a 6 speed vette can take what I’ll give it.
