I received a small order I placed last week. I lost the head of my passenger side rear view mirror that ever since I got the truck it always felt loose, so I ordered two new mirrors and I ordered the vinyl lettering for the tail gate. I have been kicking the idea of putting these letters on there for a while so for 6.95 I said what the heck let me put them on and then if I dont like them take them back off rather than painting them. I had a real good friend of mine that specializes on vinyl lettering, pin striping, decals come over to the house and put them on since you only have one shot.

Looking good Al. A trick with those letters is to use a weak dish soap solution and slide the letters into place. Blot dry with a shop rag.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
Hey Big Al ,can you point me to a post on this build as to how you mounted your ac pump down low? Mine is a 350 block and anything to hide the hoses would be nice. I'm guessing here that you do away with the fuel pump. I'm using a Sanden. Thanks

Here are a few picts that show where my compressor is which is also a Sanden but polished. I still have the fuel pump in the same location on the side of the block. I bought the brackets and pulley set from March Pulleys. I can get you a part number if interested. My a/c is from Classic auto air, the a/c lines were extended and ran thru the passenger side fender... |
Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
So does it work? It seems the service ports are on the bottom or towards the block. If you look at my thread you can see what I have before I changed my mind to go shaved. Yours is neat:metal: Just for a mind bender I,m trying to come up with a chain drive alternator off the crank. Seems in the book the ports are to be up.

Well brought the truck to the shop this morning. I had my guys install the hitch. Then my tint guy got his hands on the truck and tinted the windows I really did not want them tinted so he tinted them with a light 20% he said that he heard me complaining this morning about the sun so he wanted to help me out That was super cool of him. Well I know everyone likes pictures so i am posting several shots from today in no particular order..

Thanks guys!!!! I drove it home a few hours ago and picked up my company demo as I have a meeting tonight @ 7:00pm and did not want to leave it parked out in the open where I am going just in case someone decides they want it more than I do or getting it dented in an open area where I wont be near it. The ride home was great Hot Sun out in full force and I had to put the a/c in low as I was getting too cold the tints helped alot. |
Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
As I continue to improve things on my truck with the help of Hart_Rod (Rob) by giving me the links of what he used in his (farmtruck) I ordered a new auburn posi unit with the installation kit. So next week the rear end is coming out and we will rebuild it for once and for all. Stay tuned and now back to waiting on the big brown truck, boy I tell you I spend so much time anticipating this Brown truck arrival almost every day ...

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Well the Auburn unit should be here tomorrow and the installation kit on Wednesday so it looks like we are tearing it up either thursday or friday stay tuned. Once the rear end is finished my next mission is going to be getting my four disc big brake set up. I would like to have willwoods but I dont want to spend another fortune on brakes so I am hoping that I can find a complete kit for a descent price. Today I received two new arm rest that I ordered back in December so I am taking off my originals and I am going to post them up in the classfieds for someone looking for originals. I will post some picts once I install them. |
