Well I got a little more done on the hood.
I'm using 3/8" steel rod for the runners.
I made a jig to bend the runners that the hood will ride on.
It's basically a bolt the same size as the roller with another to hold it in place. I heated it cherry red with a map gas torch and just bent it around the bolt.
I also set up a jig for the other bends and did the same with them.

I've decided to use spherical rod ends for my tilt on the hood.
The first thing I had to do was come up with a way to attach them to the hood.
Here's what I came up with.
I used some 3/4x1/2 DOM and cut it to fit around my support rods.
A couple of threaded inserts welded in and a home made gusset and it should work just fine.

Again, a great mind at work. One thing to to look at, when bringing the hood foward from the closed position ,my rails did not have enough lift causing the corners of the hood to scrape the top of the fender. Also make sure you have enough roller depth on the rail and the rail straight because it can come off when rolling the hood back. When making this stuff it all trial and error, I can't wait to see it finished, then I'll have to redo mine.

I'm basically self taught at home. I've always liked tinkering with stuff since I was a little kid and been a hot rodder since before I could drive.
I do wish I had the finances to get all the tools to make it easier but I get by jury rigging what I need.

I know what you mean by trial and error. I made the angle at the back of the rails rather steep so I can start to get some lift as soon as the hood starts to move forward.
If I have to redesign the rails it won't bother me that much as I don't have that much time or money in them. I was thinking I may need a rail on top of the roller but won't know until I get the hood mounted and give it a try.

I know how that is. I want to have my truck driveable by June next year not sure if it will happen. I don't want to rush through and cause more of a headache

I got a little more done on the hood.
These are the front brackets for connecting it to the cab.
Kinda boring and tedious work but I had to get them done.
I started with some 4" square tube and just went from there.
