I can't help but notice the lack of comments in the last few weeks....you guys are hard to please! Well fwiw, I'll be starting to add HD video footage to the build (and a million other random things, but those will stay on the youtube channel).

In the meantime; thanks to the guys out at West Bend Dyno Tuning in West Bend WI. They always take care of me, and put on a GREAT event every year at their facility. They have both a regular mustang dyno as well as a new 4wd dyno, all in a nice new building. They had their annual Dyno Days event, with dyno drags and power competitions in a variety of classes from imports to diesels, burnout contests and a nice car show. Its a must-go for me every year (even fresh off of surgery last year).

Apparently the people out there like me back, I got to walk away with peoples choice. It was destined for me, it matches the truck!

Low res test of my gopro. The model version doing some turntable donuts.

CLICK IMAGE TO WATCH VIDEO. Let me know if it tells you for a password. I will have to move these to youtube since the site does not support embedding of Photobucket video that I can tell.

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq

Thanks guys, comments keep this build moving!

I've been troubleshooting some little things here and there, but devoting a ton of time to producing some videos to add to the build and the site in general. Unforunately, even with the grace of time on my side, they take FOREVER to edit the way I like them done.

In the meantime I'll drop some pics and a few stills from the video's that are in progress.

I pulled apart the steering wheel button to paint the face, as it was standing out as a weird mis-match from the rest of the interior. Its fiddly, but comes apart pretty logically. I hit it with a few coats of plasticoat as its something hands with touch, and I won't ever have to wipe it off or worry about oil/sunscreen/bongwater ruining the finish.

The other glaring imperfection was the ugly chewed up area surrounding the deck. The p.o. apparently used an angry woodchuck to chew into the dash to fit it, and the surrounding area was quite ugly as a result. Since the area would be a beatch to patch, paint, and blend in the little area right in the center of the dash, I chose instead to "Sweep it under the rug". I found a universal lasercut trim ring made out of black textured metal. I thing it was a leftover from some generic scosche install kit or similar kicking around in the basement of the garage. After cleaning up the area, I could epoxy the trim ring down, then combine it with the radio-specific snap on plastic trim piece. Anything is better than a chewed up hole, and this was a good use of 10 minutes!

And my new optima arrived, courtesy of the award from West Bend Dyno. I chose the blue top since it provides the same exact specs as a yellow top (good for all the electronics and ecm etc running off the battery, which is getting moved to the back). The ONLY differences? It has threaded marine-style auxiliary posts instead of the gm-style sideposts....which makes life EASIER for installing aftermarket goodies and putting the battery in back....oh and its BLUE.

And a few stills from one of the videos. I decided that my fuel cell was looking a bit dingey hanging there between the rails, and since you can see it behind me it traffic it was time for a cleanup. The epoxy primer overspray from last years paint work meant that I could either take the whole thing out, strip and wipe/polish it (which means disconnecting the whole thing and pulling the rear of the bed back up. OR mask it up and give it a cleaning and a few coats of paint. Guess which I took?

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq

Thanks for your comments as always guys! I've been putting time into her again, and have some new stuff coming both on the update side and the improvement side.

That said, please checkout my YOUTUBE CHANNEL Rev J. I'll be putting up build portions of video on this channel, as well as lots of other cool stuff like gear reviews of all types (automotive parts, streatwear, firearms and more). As well as stuff like range day shooting videos, car show and race coverage, the occasional street race, and anything else you can convince me to post. I'm just starting it off but I'm working really hard to bring fun videos ALWAYS IN HD.

The first video is a very simple video doing some cleanup and painting on my fuel cell for curb appeal from the year. Its the first one I've edited and made all the way through. Please don't be shy to like the videos, subscribe to the channel and give any feedback you like.

(SELECT 1080p for best results, all my videos will be in 720 or better!)

What a cool truck!
Your Hydroboost rebuild/installation section was outstanding. I really like how you spend the time explaining everything you do, with lots of pictures as well.

So, what's next?

Well thats a perfect segway for an update. I have a few different mods and thusly videos being worked on. Here are some screens from whats new;

Biondo line lock solenoid bolted up to the inner skirt. Install video in progress, including a budget way to make a "telephone style" dead man switch for the line lock instead of buying the low quality kits.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps0e07cdd5.jpg

And its time for the battery to go in that cool little spot I made for it under the bed. Unbolting, modifying the tray, reinstalling, dressing priming and painting the welds and the tray, and installing the Optima.

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq

I finished the rest of the battery relocation. Ran the power wire, installed the bulkhead power lug, merged some small feeds into one clean large awg cable, and hooked it all up. Key-on confirms voltage, so were good to go.

Started working with the heim joint to support the steering shaft. This should help with some of the "play" you get when you run a multi-piece steering setup, either due to a sharp angle, header clearance, or adapting parts. I've got it in general mockup, and I'm working to make a bolt-in bracket for it. (a method that should be easy to replicate for anyone, and it uses a stock leftover part from the truck...but more on that soon).

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq

The steering bracket is proving to be a brutal mistress, but I like it hard so I'll live. Without the pictures its tough to describe, but it might be a few days for those;

The annoying thing about putting this thing in is the position of my engine stands with the ls swap. They sit right where I would prefer to bolt the bracket in, (and they are welded to the frame!) What I did was make a L or P shaped bracket, it almost would be described better as a "standoff"

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n...pse2804c76.png

You might need to zoom in but that should give you a rough idea of what I did. That is the old rear bumper bracket sectioned into 3 peices. Its thick steel with a c-channel, which should be plenty strong. I boxed the ends with some 1/2 square tube I had. The small top hole is already the same size as the old engine stand hole that I'm bolting it to in the frame. The large black holes are where you would drill out for the heim joint. It depends on the config you have, and where your DD joints and shaft sit.

I'll have the video and some better diagrams of how it was fabbed. I tend to weld and fab at the seat of my pants, so its tricky to put a science to the art lol.

Super short vid, unboxing some goodies from Jegs, including the above seen gear. Full bracket installation video will be up by the end of the week.
