Nothing to exciting, just got the old motor mounts out. If all works out well tomorrow, pressure wash engine bay, continue sanding and painting.

Got my new coolant hoses installed, along with a new thermostat, and outlet. Pulled the old exhaust off the manifolds, and fired it up. :metal: Open rams horns are LOUD!!

Managed to get the old mufflers cut off the pipe I am reusing, and got the driver side ready to weld up to the muffler before the thunderstorms hit. Since I was using my buddies welder (and he took it home with him), I will be taking a different approach to finishing the exhaust. Instead of welding (too easy to burn through), I will fall back on my old technique, and braze it together with a torch and wire. Hoping to make more progress next time I have a day or so off work.

Thanks. Learning as I go. A buddy of mine is the body man that's helping me and needs the credit for helping me get this job done.

Do you have to use a different motor mounts when you put a late model in , just wondering, if so where can you get them.

Pulled (rolled up) the tonneau, stashed the "bows", and drove the 20 mile round trip to collect 18- 8 ft. 1-1/2" boards,
2- 10' 2 x 10's, 2- 8' 2 x10's, and three rolls of wire for the next round of squirrel fighting/gardening.

The Boss (;)) bought lunch, watched the garden supplies on the way home, and helped extract them from the bed without
a scratch (on the bed) when we got to Casa de Magwa.

On the trip, three people asked me the year of the truck. The guys at the lumber yard were respectful of my wanting to be
careful loading.

Installed core support filler panel. I had to make an opening for the A/C and re-paint it with SEM hot rod black. It looks really good and cleans up the engine bay.

What did you do for a hidden antenna? I have to install one myself shortly.

They have a hidden antenna that sticks under dash and plugs in the back of the radio as always, then you hook up the pwr antenna lead to it for power. Not sure about reception yet, but we'll see.

Where did you get your radio from & is it the USA-230?

I've just keep taking parts off and painting. I'm really wanting a sand blaster as I'm awfully tired of sanding only to find its not perfect. I'm also just awfully tired of sanding.

Yes its the 230. I got it from Classic Car Stereos.com It's the am/fm radio with ipod port. The knobs came with it and it looks pretty stock.

Last night I came up with an idea of how to remove, store, and reattach my custom bed cover and fix it so that it's a one man job!

I just now paid for the grill guard....the latest of neat things my truck doesn't need to regain the road but will be cool to have when she does!
