I looove that Suburban advertisement.
Chicago: http://reuther.wayne.edu/files/images/2470.preview.jpg From detroit. I love this car. Since it's a 1954 model let's just say it's being loaded into an AD. :) https://66.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m...xvpo1_1280.jpg And finally, Portland, OR 1956. https://vintageportland.files.wordpr...oking-west.jpg |

Nothing like a beer truck wreck to draw a crowd.
Plus one I came across. O'connor Moving had just about one of everything. |

Both of those photos are great. You can tell how long Oconnors was in business by the years of trucks they owned. And Brian, that's a cool photo but... I see that truck and can't help but think it belongs in a bad horror movie with a way-too-happy clown painted on the side. Tickles is in town. Gather your children and lock the door.

Every time I see these old photos I can't help but wonder if some of these very trucks are owned by our forum members today!

Here's an interesting one. Presumably new Chevrolet trucks at what's left of the Roseburg, OR Chevrolet dealership after a truckload of dynamite exploded.
One of many pages of the disaster: http://www.cityofroseburg.org/visitors/1959-blast Movie of parts of town after damage (there's at least one AD in the footage): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbFz...x=0&playnext=1 |
Re: Our Trucks Doing What They Did - Vintage Photo Thread
Brian: that photo looks like the cars are right hand drive - maybe Holdens? so is that Australia?
The Mc Donald's photo looks like 3 Chevys & 2 Mack's - looks like a bulldog on the hood. |
